22.01.2022 At Therese West Wollongong - our kindness inspiration today.

22.01.2022 At this time and on this day in 1945 the first atomic bomb was dropped on the people of Hiroshima. They said it was to end the war and ultimately save lives. Wh...y they then had to drop a second nuclear bomb on the people of Nagasaki a couple of days later they can't really explain. The fact is it happened and you can't change history but you can learn from it and change our future. The South Coast Labour Council is a proud member of the International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons (ICAN) and our support for the Peace Movement and disarmament cause dates back to 1945, we have our veterans Doreen, Monica, Irene, Mairi, Neville, Fred, Stan and many others to thank for that. Let's join the 40 other countries that have signed up to the nuclear ban treaty. While we are at it, let's also shine a light on the role of Trump's spy bases at Pine Gap. The best way to remember Hiroshima is to ensure that it never happens again. #Hiroshimaneveragain #Uniontown See more
