22.01.2022 RDA Illawarra welcomed Dr Rachel Bacon (Deputy Secretary Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Communications) to our office on Wednesday, 4 November 2020. The Chair, Eddy De Gabriele, Deputy Chair, Joanna Kubota and board member Mark Roberts and RDA team discussed several initiatives, including the Future of Work, UOW’s Health & Wellbeing Precinct and the Leadership Illawarra Program. We had in-depth discussions on RDA’s role in developing the I...llawarra-Shoalhaven City Deal, and the recent launch of the Prospectus in October. Dr Bacon commended the RDA Illawarra board and team on their contribution to the region and the outstanding initiatives being pursued. We look forward to continuing to liaise with the Deputy Secretary on the progress of these initiatives. 20.01.2022 RDA Illawarra has signed an MUA marking the international expansion of the UK Aviation Skills Charter in Australia. The new alliance will see the advancement of the Aviation Skills Charter, which was developed by Pannant and the Aviation Skills Foundation to ensure a skilled workforce for the UK's large aviation sector, by: - the development of internationally transferable aviation skills;... aviation industry knowledge-exchange between Australia and the UK; and - the development new international industry collaborations. 05.01.2022 RDA Illawarra welcomes the announcement today by the NSW Government and Minister Constance to commit $21m to Mt Ousley Interchange planning works. The separation of heavy vehicles from light vehicles is imperative to ensure the safety of our community. This announcement is one step closer to the Mt Ousley Interchange Project coming to fruition. In our Illawarra-Shoalhaven City Deal, we advocate for the Picton Road and Mt Ousley Interchange to be funded as both roads are near capacity and have significant safety concerns. We look forward to Mount Ousley Interchange projects progress towards being shovel ready and securing full financial commitments from governments as soon as practical.
