17.01.2022 #borntoplay Meet our Female Players CAITLIN TREBEL... Caitlin always watched her brothers play cricket every weekend before she decided to start playing at the age of 14 in Corrimal’s U/12 team, with her brother Kyle. Caitlin enjoyed the season taking 6 wickets from the 7 games with a best of 2/12. Caitlin was selected in the Illawarra/Shoalhaven Regional Emerging Breakers squad, where she enjoyed learning more about the game and further developing her skills. A lack of local opportunities to play cricket saw Caitlin seemingly end her career. The commencement of the Fraternity Club Women’s T-20 League gave Caitlin the opportunity to form Corrimal’s 1st ever Women’s team. Dad, Craig offered to coach the team and now the Cougarettes have a solid base. The Women’s League has been a rewarding experience for Caitlin, who captain’s the Cougarettes and loves playing with the girls after growing up playing with her 5 brothers. Caitlin & Craig have worked hard together to support & teach the Cougarettes the main points with cricket whilst creating a fun & inclusiveness culture at Corrimal which has seen the team continually improve & grow. Caitlin’s top score is 17 in the league and was the Cougarettes leading wicket taker with 6 wickets, including a best of 2/13. This season Caitlin has improved with a 3/10 & 2/5 amongst her returns. Caitlin is a very proud Captain of the Corrimal Cougarettes, and loves the opportunity that the Fraternity Club Women’s T-20 League has provided her, and other girls & women in the Illawarra
