25.01.2022 Taking the time to understand your customer journey will reward you with deeper connections and loyalty. The journey doesn’t end at the point of purchase! I received this email after ordering online from a small business. Each time I’ve ordered something from Kooshy Kids the message is slightly different. Of course, I assume this is an automated email however it leaves me with that warm and fuzzy feeling. Do you understand why people purchase from you, what their customer journey is and how you encourage loyal, repeat customers through your communications?

25.01.2022 It’s been a thrill to support @sunnies4kids with this collaboration. More great things are happening soon with this wonderful business. The sun is shinning today here in Melbourne (and don’t we all need it!!!). Are your kids wearing their sunnies? #sunnies #sunniesforkids

23.01.2022 Kids Eye Health Admittedly this was a topic I didn’t know much about before meeting Nathan from Sunnies4Kids. As the Head of Health and Physical Education at a Melbourne school, he is passionate about educating both parents and schools about the short and long term effects of sun damage in our kids eyes. I was privileged to write a short piece for MamaMag to help get his message out! ... Thank you MamaMag for helping spread the word! https://issuu.com/mamamag/docs/mamamag_e_octnov20/32?ff #kidseyehealth #eyes #sunglasses #kidshealth #freelancing #writer #marketing #communication

23.01.2022 For the second time, I’m a guest on a travel podcast! This time, with Iceland With Kids. Eric Newman has written a fantastic guidebook on the country, specifically for families. After the book’s success, he extended his offering to include itinerary planning and tour guiding, however covid-19 struck and along with lockdowns came itinerary and tour cancellations. While we may not be able to travel, Eric is keeping dreams alive by sharing his expertise through this podcast. I a...m privileged to be his first podcast guest (I actually don’t shut up, sorry Eric!) If you are looking for an amazing destination to visit (when its safe to do so) then listen to this! Available now on Apple Podcast, Spotify, Stitcher and Google Podcast. Just search for Iceland with kids. https://icelandwithkids.com/the-iceland-with-kids-podcast/

22.01.2022 I feel privileged to have had the opportunity to share my working parent journey with the @workingmummacommunity! We all have unique experiences, no two are the same and it’s this very thing we need to embrace - our differences! There is no one size fits all to motherhood or being a working parent. The link is in the comments if you want to have a read

22.01.2022 Today kicks off the next ‘new of 2020’ in our household, with our primary school and kinder kids now learning remotely. I love the way this simple graphic reminds us to look after ourselves! Regardless of whether remote learning is taking place in your household, this pandemic has created big change for all of us. Make sure you close down all the tabs at some stage of the day! Hang in there Melbourne! #mindfullness #covid #pandemic #mentalhealth #workingparentvillage #support

21.01.2022 Three things to smile about today: This morning I chatted with Eric from Ohio, America about being a guest on his podcast I’m writing content for a new B2B client ... Its the last day of remote learning Saying yes" has so much magic within it! #podcast #guest #freelancer #writing

21.01.2022 Who would have ever thought I’d be so grateful for trestle tables We have had these two permanently set up as desks during lockdown so we don’t have to share the kitchen table! #multitasking #allinthedayofiso #stillworking #remotelearning

21.01.2022 Mummy, what’s his name? Many of us have had conference calls gatecrashed by kids, the dog, the cat and the delivery man these past few months. A big high five to this unfazed BBC presenter, Christian Fraser and Dr Clare Wenham because ‘life happens!’ https://www.theguardian.com//mummy-whats-his-name-experts-

19.01.2022 *** UPDATE: I’m in already, that didn’t take long! Thanks everyone! ***... Are you on the new platform, Clubhouse? Ok, so this may be a little cheeky! I’ve requested to join but if anyone has a ‘spare’ invite I’d love to skip the waiting queue and gain access. It sounds like a great space to share stories, ideas and connect.

18.01.2022 After seeing my article in a sustainability magazine, the editor of Australasian Poultry reached out in hope I would share our chicken coop design with their readers. And, here it is; Children, Chickens & the Cubbyhouse Coop. Available in newsagents now! ... PS - the irony of the ‘how to dress a chook for dinner’ ad on a page about pet chickens isn’t lost on me #freelance #freelancewriting #writing #poultry #chickens #backyardchickens

18.01.2022 Last night we ventured more than 5km for the first time in months! We headed straight to our local(ish) river for a picnic dinner and a bush walk at dusk to find kangaroos (so many joeys!) If you needs inspiration for local hikes now that Melbourne is slowly opening up, my Hiking with Kids article in the June / July edition MamaMag will help. If you are Sydney based, a list of local hikes has just been added too! #hiking #hikingwithkids #freelancewriting #writing #outdoors... #melbournewalks #sydneywalks https://www.mamamag.com.au/2020/09/17/familyhiking/

15.01.2022 With the extended lockdown in Melbourne being announced on Sunday, our family has been coming up with what we call ‘the wonderfuls’; basically, things we are enjoying that we wouldn’t normally get to do. Over the past week we have: ‘Been’ to the Phillip Island Penguin Parade twice Laid on our front lawn at night and watched the International Space Station fly directly over our house [amazing!!]... Had dinner with my German exchange sister from 17 years ago [well, her family had breakfast!] and today, I ‘visited’ Zoos Victoria Healesville Sanctuary with my daughter’s kinder. While I would give anything to be out of this pandemic, I’m grateful for the communication platforms that allow us to stay connected with family, friends, and colleagues, and connect us with new places and new people. I’d love to know what some of your ‘wonderfuls’ are! #digitalconnections #communciation #pandemic

14.01.2022 Four months ago, over on LinkedIn I posted the below . Last week a few in my network received covid-related redundancies. So I repeat again. If I can help in anyway please reach out - that’s what networks are all about, right?

14.01.2022 First up yes, that is my kid pretending to be an aeroplane on the swing! Now, it’s time for a little bit of Thursday night honesty ... ready? I’ve always bought my kids cheap, fashion sunnies - the really cheap ones!! I had no idea about the effects of sun damage on young eyes! Enter @sunnies4kids! I’ve been blog / magazine writing for these guys and the more I write the more I learn how critical it is we look after young eyes! Be sure to check out their website and follow ...them on Instagram. Over the coming week they will be sharing their top tips on how to get kids to actually wear sunglasses (we all know they end up on the floor of the car!) The colours of these sunnies pair well as part of a school uniform too! Oh and yes, the kids love their new sunnies! #sunnies4kids #kidseyehealth #sunglasses #kidsinglasses #schooluniform

14.01.2022 Let's celebrate #loveyourbookshopday by putting down our devices (after reading this of course!) and getting stuck into a book! I have never purchased so many books over a six month period than I have during lockdown. Books allow my mind to escape to places my body can't. If I have needed time out, I have done it with a hot cuppa and a book. I have literally stalked the postie when waiting for a book to arrive! ... Please try to purchase locally where you can. We all know our Aussie businesses need our support. #LYBD2020

10.01.2022 Who says virtual networking doesn’t create meaningful connections? It was loads of fun to watch Debbie from @deb_sketches live sketch our conversation yesterday. I met Debbie through a women’s virtual networking event run and facilitated by Emma McQueen. I loved Debbie’s illustration style, and we have now gone on to work on promoting this year’s Association of Corporate Counsel Australia conference. Check out the photo to get a glimpse of what’s in store. #networking #connection #marketing #community

10.01.2022 Looking out for our co-workers is important at a time like this. But how do you spot the signs that one of your own might be doing it tough when you can't see them in person? This article talks about physical cues on video chats, communication in emails and on phone calls, and general attitude and productivity. Let’s ensure we watch out for one another ... https://www.abc.net.au//signs-your-colleague-is-/12476036

09.01.2022 The more that you read, the more you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go! - Dr. Seuss While I may never become a professional photographer I’m spending my Monday night with @natalianaa and @lanewaylearning learning smartphone photography 101 What new hobbies have you discovered during #ISO?

06.01.2022 Happy #WorldEmojiDay Ideograms and smileys are leading the way in communication tools where emotions are sometimes difficult to project (how many times have you added a smiley face to a message or email just to ensure the reader understands your frame of mind?!?) Emojis allow us to add emotion without necessarily taking up critical text character space.... I the posts where someone asks you to describe your week / your day / your holiday only using emojis! People get very creative with their responses! So I ask, what are your plans this weekend? Only use emojis I’ll start, my weekend plans are in the comments! [picture credit: Britannica]

06.01.2022 While I am incredibly pleased the government sees the need to support women getting back into the workforce, this really frustrates me (or, at least the way it’s been written). What about encouraging investment in flexible practises? For both parents / carers. This pandemic has ushered in a new era of productivity, inclusiveness and connectedness. Why not flexibility in the way we manage the hours we work too? ... #flexibleworking #flexwork #flex #remoteworking #remoteteams #theage

05.01.2022 Well, that's a wrap!! 2020 is done! Six happy clients Lots of you’re on mute episodes Two children remote learning... Many many pages of writing and comms strategy completed (and published across a range of mediums) Hundreds of social media posts done for others (mine got slightly neglected, but I’m ok with that) Lots of hand sanitiser, coffee and wine! While this year turned out to be totally different to what I had planned I am incredibly grateful for the opportunities that came my way! I have zoom-met new clients and new friends who I can’t wait to meet in 2021 ...without a screen between us! Minus writing one piece for an editorial deadline in January, I’ll be taking a summer break to relax, unwind and rejuvenate. I wish every single one of you a very Merry Christmas and an amazing 2021! Catch you all in Feb!

04.01.2022 For those of you dreaming of the day when we can hit the hiking trails again (post lockdown) I shared some simple strategies our family use to ensure successful kiddie hiking with MamaMag. With many of the magazine’s physical distribution channels disrupted due to the pandemic the magazine will run as a digital magazine over the next few months, so grab a coffee and curl up with your phone or iPad. The link is in the first comment Mamamag, thank you for this opportunity.

03.01.2022 Do your kids typically wear sunglasses during the summer?

02.01.2022 LinkedIn has launched its new ‘support’ reaction amid the shifting economic situation caused by the pandemic. LinkedIn is my main social media platform so I this.
