07.01.2022 Ten years ago, I was pregnant and in the process of becoming a personal trainer. I had terrible pain in my pelvis while I was pregnant and probably doing hot Yoga during that time didn't help me. During my PT training I never even came across the pelvic floor. I knew kind of what it was, that you should do a squeeze down there every now and then, especially after having a baby but I didn't know much else more. After I had my baby and became a personal trainer, I wante...d to find a way to support other women who were having issues during pregnancy so went a did some further training for pre and post natal women. And then I started to learn more about about the pelvic floor and the deep core muscles and how important they are for managing back pain and regaining core strength after having kids (and actually EVERYONE) and how they work together, with the breath to create a solid foundation. I started doing Pilates and went on to do further training so I could teach and started to blend lots of the Pilates principles and exercises with what I knew from my personal training, Yoga and pre and post natal training. Since then I have continued to train and educate myself about the core and pelvic floor, they're important for everyone - not just pregnant and post natal women. When we say"strengthen from the inside out," this is what we mean. Finding strength and stability from your deep core and pelvic floor, centering yourself and then moving and building on that.
