25.01.2022 All of us at illuminate Education Australia are loving Spark Festival this year, as we're able to tune in from our home base and still get access to incredible insights from the event. For those who are looking for sessions to tune into, make sure you note down 5:10 pm on Monday October 19 as Adam and the team talk about how young people can design and create the future, looking at how the illuminate:nextgen Challenge is a framework to empower and encourage young people to take ownership of local issues and create innovative solutions. We can't wait to see you virtually in the session.

25.01.2022 While 2020 has been a quieter year for illuminate Education Australia, its given us a chance to look back at what weve done in past years and remember all of the great places weve been, the partners weve worked with and the young people weve impacted - and wow, there are so many great memories! Back in 2018, we were wrapping up our first challenge that we had delivered in partnership with Hume City Council - and its a relationship that has only gone from strength to strength since then! We absolutely loved delivering this challenge and connecting with so many great young people, and have done so in 2019 and looking forward the challenge coming up in November this year. #throwback #nextgenfeels

23.01.2022 Wondering what it is like to experience the illuminate:nextgen Challenge as a student? Hear from some students who participated in a program on the Central Coast of NSW a couple of years back share their thoughts and insights - and you can share a similar experience with your students through participating in one of our upcoming programs in 2020!

23.01.2022 Two years ago, it was fantastic to be in Geelong delivering the illuminate:nextgen Challenge in partnership with Deakin University, working with students across the region to look at how they could develop their business that solved a community challenge using digital technologies. While we cant travel like normal at the moment, we thoroughly enjoyed taking the program to all parts of the country and cannot wait to do that again soon. #throwback #nextgenfeels

23.01.2022 Did you know that you dont just need to register as a school to be part of our upcoming programs - you can also register as an individual! Through registering individually, you can join a team and be part of the challenge from your location, taking the opportunity of developing skills and knowledge to grow your confidence, creativity and capability to shape the future - opening the opportunity to be involved in the program to even more people. So dont hold back - weve got programs starting soon and it would be great to see even more students join from across Australia to not miss out on this exciting program.

23.01.2022 When you have a passion to be working with young people, it is fantastic to be back on school grounds after the last few months. And at Scotch Oakburn College, students are using the lockdown to springboard new ideas for living, learning and working - there are so many fantastic ideas!!

22.01.2022 For young people on the Central Coast of the NSW, were adapting the delivery of our IGNITE Business Launchpad to be fully digital - meaning we can allow for a lot more people to register in 2020. If you know anyone aged between 12 and 25 who is interested in starting a business in the region, then let them know about the program, where theyll access a range of live streamed (and recorded) skill sessions, one-on-one mentoring appointments, a gala pitch night and workshops ac...ross the rest of the year - with the program run and supported by Adam Mostogl from illuminate Education Australia at every stage. There has never been a better time to consider starting a business - so for those on the Central Coast, were so glad to be adapting our partnership with the Central Coast Council to ensure that even more young people can access this program. Oh, and did we mention its FREE?

21.01.2022 This time last year, Emily, David & Adam were in Port Macquarie with Charles Sturt University and Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand - inspiring a great group of young people to design new ideas to keep young people in their regional community. It was a great program and we absolutely loved the ideas that were presented - and look forward to the chance to get back into the region in the future! #throwback #nextgenfeels

21.01.2022 Tune in from 5pm tonight to hear about the incredible ideas that these students presented to respond to the COVID-19 restrictions and affects on our community, some of the reflections on the challenge and join with us in celebrating the students in what they have achieved in five intensive days! This illuminate:nextgen Challenge has been presented by Scotch Oakburn College in association with Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand.

20.01.2022 This week weve spread our (digital) wings even further - and weve been working with some brilliant students in South Australia, Northern Territory & Queensland all week long. Weve been blown away by the incredible ideas presented by students who have been taking part in the illuminate:nextgen Challenge this week that has been presented by Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand & Torrens University Australia - and you can see it all by joining our live stream tonight!

20.01.2022 This time in 2018, we were launching our third illuminate:nextgen Challenge at Makybe Rise Primary School and this time around we were looking at social impact - so Adam invited a good friend of his to come in and inspire the students. It was awesome to have Drisana Levitzke-Gray, 2015 Young Australian of the Year, inspiring over 160 students in primary school that they can lead change in the areas of society and our world that they really care about! #throwback #nextgenfeels

20.01.2022 Education is not an endeavour where every country looks after their own - and that is why at illuminate Education Australia we strive to do out bit to collaborate with international partners to share our knowledge, and learn from them too. Whether it is participating in international events or just connecting with likeminded organisations around the world and sharing what weve learned as well as learning from them, this article gives a great overview of why we should be looking at supporting education across borders rather than just close to home.

19.01.2022 We love seeing how innovative education can bring communities together! On Flinders Island last week, parents, students and the community gathered to watch the live-streamed awards ceremony together in the school library - not only celebrating how well their students performed but also how schools all across these two states did in the challenge too. Were sure that there was a loud cheer heard across the island as it was announced that Flinders Island District High School we...re awarded Overall Best Solution too! Thanks to Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, Deakin University and Ruddicks Chartered Accountants for their ongoing support of the challenge - inspiring students even in times where it is a little harder to gather together. #inspired #community

19.01.2022 Were getting ready to announce our 2020 illuminate:nextgen Challenge Digital programs - and working hard to make sure that students in every single state and territory do not miss out on the program. Were collaborating with a range of partners all across Australia, and cannot wait to get in touch again with schools we havent seen for a little while as well as meeting many more schools along the way. #excited #entrepreneurshipeducation

18.01.2022 Last week, we ran our first fully in-school program for 2020 at Deloraine High School - challenging students of the region to pitch the community values that they wanted to see in their community, then turning them into business ideas that could start in the region. We were blown away by the breadth of ideas that the Year 8 & 9 students came up with, and how many of them could actually - and should - be started in the community. We did also mention on Friday that wed announc...e the rankings of how teams tracked across what they produced for the range of tasks across the week. Without further ado, here they are! From 13 - 16, in alphabetical order, were Del High Ag [Team 11], Edu [Team 13], Empire Siege Paintball [Team 15], Minority Club [Team 03] & Mud Crab Mountain Bikes [Team 12]. 12. Minority Club [Team 03] 11. Live2Eat [Team 07] 10. Deloraine Entertainment Centre [Team 02] 09. Deloraine Pool [Team 10] 08. Teenage Freedom [Team 04] 07. STFE [Team 14] 06. Meander Valley Holiday Sports Care [Team 09] 05. Elite Events [Team 01] 04. Salad [Team 06] 03. Pinion [Team 08] 02. Caterpillar Musos [Team 05] 01. MVMRA [Team 21] Congratulations to everyone in the program - you should all be extremely proud of what you achieved in what is otherwise an incredibly intense week!

16.01.2022 The Spark Festival kicks off next week - and there is so much that educators and aspiring entrepreneurs should join in for! If you haven't looked, jump on over to https://sparkfestival.co/ and check out the full program - oh, and it's all free too!! On Monday though, Adam will be helping kick off the Find My Spark program MCing a discussion about the entrepreneurship education landscape across Australia. The Find My Spark program is a deep dive in entrepreneurial education fr...om a range of stakeholders, and an awesome resource for teachers and community members to access - but to start, you've got to get a sense of what is out there (and it's incredible!!). He'll be joined by Liz Jackson, Matt Pfhalert (ACRE - Australian Centre for Rural Entrepreneurship) & Tania Price (Kidpreneur Challenge powered by Entropolis) in this session to unpack what is happening and resources to make entrepreneurial education approaches part of the long term culture of the community. To see more about what we discuss, you can register using the link below. See more

15.01.2022 Wondering when students in your region can join an illuminate:nextgen Challenge in Term 3? Check out www.illuminateeducation.com.au/eoi about the range of programs weve got running across Australia - both across the state but also more localised programs weve got planned - but through all of this, we cannot wait to see the range of students who join our programs in 2020!

15.01.2022 Our young Australians are amazing! Lets make sure were encouraging them to keep going and to make a difference.

14.01.2022 Weve been so encouraged by seeing how teachers, students and parents have been adaptable and innovative in the recent weeks and months - and we just wanted to say well done!! We know that these skills are even more important as we continue into the future, and cannot wait to get back into schools again in 2020 to help inspire young people with the confidence, creativity and capability to achieve their full potential.

13.01.2022 With the changing restrictions across Victoria and Australia, weve ensured that our education programs are ones that students can still engage in, whether they are in their own home or congregating in schools. We know that for many locations around our country, the only way to access learning is from the home - whether it is homeschooling because of circumstances or because of their geographic location - and designed our digital programs to facilitate this. So no matter what the schooling system looks like in the coming weeks and months, we are focused on allowing students to be inspired and impacted through our education programs - and will do all we can to engage and empower all those who are involved.

13.01.2022 In these constantly changing times, innovation and entrepreneurship is a real asset to find unique solutions - whether its to help something in your house or in your community. And as outlined in this article, there have been some incredible innovations that have come out of difficult times - so if you have a creative idea, maybe now is the time to start activating it.

13.01.2022 Were never one to sit still too long - and one of our favourite ways to do that is to look at what is happening globally around the world. The World Economic Forum always shares stories and updates from great schools, considering educational approaches and thought-provoking discussions that help us look across the world and really consider what is needed to see young people thrive now and into the future - and here is another great article looking into schools that are showcasing what others should be doing now.

12.01.2022 Running a program digitally makes for a few differences - but the biggest is the awards! Instead of being in a room with students, parents and representatives of our partners, this is the set up - connecting with people in their homes all across Australia - and the energy is very very different. But it is worth it to overcome the border restrictions and gathering restrictions to ensure that students can still be inspired to be confident, creative and capable in these incredible times...

11.01.2022 Another week, and were inspiring and connecting with more incredible students - and this week it is NSWs turn. Weve been blown away by the incredible ideas presented by students who have been taking part in the illuminate:nextgen Challenge this week that has been presented by Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand & UNE Smart Region Incubator - and you can see it all by joining our live stream tonight!

10.01.2022 We love seeing students embracing their entrepreneurial capacity no matter their age! In New Zealand, our national partner Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand supports the Young Enterprise Trust which provides a longer term program to support students to start their own business - and here is a great initiative students in the Marlborough region of New Zealands South Island is helping look out for their own.

10.01.2022 On Friday evening with a livestreamed awards, we wrapped up our illuminate:nextgen Challenge at Scotch Oakburn College, presented in association with Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand. Weve thoroughly enjoyed helping to build upon the entrepreneurial and creative spirit of the school through running this program for the Year 10 students to help prepare them for further learning and the changing world of work. For those who are interested in the rankings, this i...s how the teams performed; From 11 - 14 (in alphabetical order) were; Program Positive, Scotch Oakburn College (Team 9), Sustineri & UJSA. 10. Bounce Back 09. Team 8 - Scotch Oakburn College 08. Retail Business Solutions 07. Future Health 06. MILOS 05. Keeping It Local 04. Tassie X-plorers (84.0%) 03. Simply Sustainable (84.4%) 02. C3 (85.1%) 01. Inclusivity (90.7%) Congratulations to all of the students who completed the challenge, they worked so hard and should be really proud of themselves. Considering how high the bar has been set in the challenge, we cannot wait to see what the legacy of these students and their ideas on the region for the future!

08.01.2022 Were supporters of education at all stages - which is why weve enjoyed having Rai join us over the past four weeks, under an internship arranged by the University of Tasmania. Rai has not only helped with some internal projects and initiatives, he has learned very quickly about how fluid small businesses can be, some of the dynamics of the challenge and opportunities of working in the education space - and as he put it, how we are in a class of our own in what we do. While the focus of the internship program is to help Rai get a great experience of working in Tasmania, I know that all of us at illuminate Education Australia have enjoyed his input and presence over the last couple of weeks!

06.01.2022 As were getting ready for around 100 students across NSW to join our digital program next week, we started to think back our first program in Sydney back in 2017. Mattraville Sports High School took on the challenge in a massive way, and it was great to see the impact that the program made on these students!

05.01.2022 Weve been blown away by the incredible ideas presented by students across Victoria & Tasmania who have been taking part in the illuminate:nextgen Challenge this week that has been presented by Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand & Deakin University in association with Ruddicks Chartered Accountants - and you can see it all by joining our live stream tonight!

04.01.2022 Teaching is more than just what happens in the classroom between 9am and 3pm. As were passionate about supporting educators, we completely understand the extra hours that goes into being a teacher, and what happens to make for a great learning environment. But for those who might not have been in the classroom before, this great piece by The Guardian from the UK gives you a great insight into what it takes, especially in these COVID-19 times...

04.01.2022 Get ready Australia - the illuminate:nextgen Challenge is going online! Ahead of launching the dates of our upcoming digital programs in the coming weeks, weve updated our website to give schools and parents more information about how the program works - and how students can register individually to join the challenge in 2020! Weve taken every step possible to be responsible in light of the COVID-19 restrictions, but have not lost our focus for students to activate the confidence, creativity and capability to reach their full potential through solving problems in their community. https://illuminateeducation.com.au/digital/

04.01.2022 Although there are some restrictions in place due to COVID-19 and gathering, we're still doing what we can to host programs - even if it is digitally gathering people together to be creative, confident and capable. In early December, with the support of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, Deakin University & Ballarat Tech School, we'll be running a program for students across regional Victoria to join. Whether you want to join individually or get together as a team from your school, we'd love to see as many students as possible come together for the program to be innovative in these crazy times. If you are interested, jump straight over to our website and you can register today - and if you want to help out around the program, just get in touch as we love having the wider business community involved in the challenge!

03.01.2022 We love getting involved with the entrepreneurial journey across many stages, as we know there are so many people across Australia who are eager to explore if they can start their own business, and want some guidance on the first steps. In partnership with Wyndham City Council (Vic), Adam from illuminate Education will be delivering the Make It Wyndham Business Launchpad, helping more young adults explore entrepreneurship and what it takes to start their own business. And as ...we are in COVID-19 times, we cannot meet together but that does not stop great ideas - so the first round of the program is being delivered digitally and flexibly to allow those in Melbournes West the chance to engage and join in. If you know anyone in that area, make sure you let them know about the program as we cannot wait to meet a range of great entrepreneurs through the sessions and mentoring on offer. https://illuminatefuture.com.au/makeitwyndham/

The successful applicants will get access to a range of business skill sessions to build your entrepreneurial capacity delivered flexibly, an invitation to present at a gala pitch event and ongoing workshops with business leaders to go to the next level.
