25.01.2022 The local rag's headline said it best: 'I do...have to play footy on my wedding day". And so it goes... Simon and Cat tied the knot around midday on Saturday, then Simon rushed off to skipper the Cardiff Hawks against Nelson Bay in the semi-final of the Black Diamond AFL. His team got up, and was even crowned the best on ground for the match. Cat joined the crowd on the sidelines with her wedding party, and jumped on the field afterwards to congratulate her new husband. Proce...edings then carried on at Redhead Surf Club for their wedding reception. They had no idea the team would do so well when they booked their wedding date, but the Hawks secured their finals place a week before the date - so they decided to just run with it. Literally! First time for everything - I even battled a local media scrum as they walked out of the church! Awesome day. See more
