24.01.2022 I’ve been back in the kitchen cake decorating a fair bit these past two weeks with Hubby turning the big 4-0h! & my little man turning 5. I absolutely despise our current kitchen situation & it’s deflated my baking passion significantly since we moved to Brisbane. However, my family always have their home made cakes from me for those special events. I am dreaming of working in a home-kitchen like this some day! . 23.01.2022 For those that have been wondering where I’ve been, well here I am! I am popping on here to send a quick update on #ilovethesweeterthings whereabouts these past few months. My family & I have moved interstate from Darwin, NT to Brisbane, QLD at the end of last year with my hubby’s military posting; & it has been a whirlwind of events since then. With the move into our new home (for now), we are at a point where we are finally feeling settled into the neighborhood & we have ...been welcomed here with open arms, which definitely makes it all that much easier. Business wise, the store will be temporarily closed as there are still a few background things to arrange before opening here in Brisbane. Every year I give them the freedom to choose their own cake design. They tell me exactly what they want. 01.01.2022 ~ Happy 6th Birthday Kayla ~ . A flashback to my baby girls 6th birthday in 2017. This was a big year! Her Daddy went on a deployment for 6mths. He returned & we moved a week later to a new state which meant a new school! She missed her friends & her birthday was approaching only 4wks later. So, we flew ourselves back to Darwin to throw her dream party at Flip Out with ALL of her friends. . I planned ahead, baked & froze her cake in a friends freezer in Darwin & then assemb...led it all in an apartment before her party when we arrived . There was no way I was missing making my little lady her requested cake. . Chocolate Cake covered in pink strawberry icing with real strawberries (she hates strawberries by the way but it’s ok in icing ) & particularly placed little love heart sprinkles which she helped me position just right. .
