05.01.2022 In our final session of 2020, a few of the evening teachers put together a 'mini event' where our students got to learn about the importance of beach safety and water culture in Australia. As we've transitioned to summer, the tempting waters of the beautiful coastal beaches and pools are an escape from the scorching Australian heat. It's no surprise that international students are always eager to take part in the bustling beach culture. It's very important, however, to sta...y safe by understanding the dangers, such as strong water movements and inadequate swimwear and knowing what rules to follow. Students eagerly watched an informative video, had fun while testing their knowledge with a beloved (and absolutely competive) game of Kahoot. Each went home feeling more confident about swimming safely this summer with a handy handout jam-packed with vital safety signs, rules and regulations to have as a guide.
