25.01.2022 This is a picture of a photo of a painting that I did a few years ago for a special friend...sadly she passed away on hospital after suffering from a pressure wound that wouldn't heal. She was an inspiration, and I will forever remember her. I didn't know her for long, but during the time that I did, she became a close friend, mentor, and confidante even though she was twice my age. Despite being a paraplegic, she didn't let any excuses stop her from living life to the full. ...She travelled in her van across Australia, and even went surfing on massive waves on the back of her sons friend Ty as depicted in the painting. She dreamed of surfing Chopes in Tahiti one day, which is what this painting was meant to be (I didn't realise at the time that Chopes was a left hander lol ). She hung this on the wall in her hospital room. I hope that she is somehow there now, surfing in her dreams along with her trusty sidekick, Coyote the dog, who sadly was hit by a car just a few weeks before she passed herself. I still feel pain when I remember her, even though I really only knew her for such a short time, but she really made such an impact on me. Of course I have regrets about my time with her, but I am grateful for the opportunity to share that time and experiences with Pascale. See more
