25.01.2022 Yes to all of this! And maybe not changed into "full bellydancer" in 30 seconds from a "sarong on the couch" start but we can probably be somewhere, dressed and ready to shimmy it up, in an hour. If we have to... for some dire bellydance emergency ;-)

23.01.2022 How to keep a bellydancer happy: 1. Have a show to dance at. 2. Full length mirror. 3. Cake.... Thankfully people are still doing things - and a wedding is a bit difficult to postpone. Had a lovely time at a home wedding last night. Perfect space, thinking DJ, and guests who were keen to get up and dance with me.

Elies Tent is celebrating the long weekend this Sunday night with a banquet and live band and dancing. Like their usual harem night but better! $45 for a banquet plus dessert and coffee, live music and dance. Elies Tent is a BYO restaurant and doesnt charge corkage so feel free to bring along whatever your preferred "poison" is :-) And wear comfy shoes! (and probably stretchy pants!)

Last Tuesday we had the great pleasure of dancing at an exhibition opening to celebrate the new and very fancy lighting system at Atwell Art Centre and Gallery and making the most of the light and shade. They may have given me their shop to get changed but I think that was a clever marketing ploy and a bellydancer trap as it was full of wonderful beads! You can have Manhattan / Alfred Cove, well take the beads, thanks!

Finger cymbals / zils / sagat / party starters / things that make dingsss (and that is our new favourite name for them!) make such a great racket. They always take the energy of a party up a few notches when we start playing these while we dance. ... 08.01.2022 We had such a great time on Saturday night at Club Balkan - Season 2!!! We love the amped band, the hyper tracks the DJ plays, the crowd that knows how to chill AND party and the great venue! So pleased that Season 2 of these events had commenced. Because the world would be a better place of everyone listened to Balkan music ;)

07.01.2022 Not only is Chelsea the life of every party but she is an amazing (and incredibly patient!) maker of costumes and puppets! She made these outfits for "Nature" for the current Water Corporation ad. So weather youre looking for a bellydancer, a puppeteer or a costume of any description then drop us a line. Her creativity needs an outlet otherwise she starts getting into trouble ;-)

Whether its a pirate show (because no pirate show is complete without someone waving around swords), a traditional Egyptian wedding, a hens party in the suburbs or a Greek festival. Any excuse to wear this vintage Turkish costume in Greek colours, found in the catacombs of Istanbuls main shopping district, Beyolu, hiding in a vintage clothes emporium. If youve got a special event and need a performance styled in to match were ...always happy to raid the costume box to get all matchy matchy for you! Such a well considered event <3 Origami tent and a Maori performance troupe and indigenous dancers, local dancers and representing from so many places. They struck the perfect balance between global and local <3 Thank you for inviting me to dance for you!! And big loves to the *exceptional* event photography of Soul Gazing Photography. Absolutely stunning images! They look straight out of a travel magazine!!

05.01.2022 Chelsea and Tallulah are always such a favourite at parties. Tallulah is a carpet snake that has lived with dancer Chelsea for many years. With any critter, whether its a dog or a snake (or a spouse!), its so important for the handler to understand what mood the critter is in. And Tallulah is a particularly laid-back carpet snake! If youre having an Arabic style party, or marine themed party (she has a sea snake costume), Garden of Eden, Garden party, Vaudeville event, or really anything. Snakes are the ultimate party accessory! ;-)

05.01.2022 Harem nights at Elies Tent are wonderful events - particularly when theres live music involved! This is the long weekend Sunday so forget the whats in the fridge and come down for the falafel!

05.01.2022 It doesnt matter how big or small your event space is, we know how to fill it. For big spaces like stages and dance floors we use giant wings, double veils and canes and for small spaces like backgrounds and living rooms we use a single veil, silk fans and finger cymbals to create at atmosphere of somewhere else.

We are sure she is a reincarnated old-school vaudeville performer and always makes a show work whatever dramas you throw at her! She loves people, has a kooky sense of humour and a smile (and laugh) that is usually turned up to about 11. (And now I feel like Im writing her Tinder profile!). She is a supremely engaging performer and we adore her!... She specialises in childrens parties, snake dancing and burlesque shows (truly, this woman is bomb-proof!!!). 02.01.2022 A party isnt a party until there are cupcakes involved. And a knife to cut them up into convenient "stuff them into your mouth" sized pieces. We dance at all sorts of events - festivals, weddings, hens parties, kids birthday parties (we need a lie down after those ones!), restaurants, aged care homes and Arabian night themed events. Cupcakes (like Chelsea here) will give your party a focus, get the crowd on the dance floor and give them somethingto talking about long after its over.
