17.01.2022 It’s time for a history lesson! The first ever playground was built in 1859 in Manchester, England, but the idea of playgrounds was actually first developed in Germany. The first sketched concept of a playground was produced in 1848 by a man named Henry Barnard and featured a large, shaded area with teachers looking on as children played with wooden blocks, toy carts, and two rotary swings. Oh how playgrounds have evolved!

Before you head to the playground over the school holidays, make sure you’ve slip, slop, slapped on some sunscreen and remember your protective clothing and gear like a hat and sunglasses.
