23.01.2022 It feels like Christmas has come early with this delivery The children will have to wait a few weeks to play with it all while we have some work done in the backyard. I can’t wait to set it all up to play with!

23.01.2022 For over 45 minutes he tried to climb up onto our new tunnel. I watched him persist and I listened to his self talk as I resisted the urge to give him the little boost that would have gotten him up on top. I can’t, I can’t, I can’t he repeated as he attempted to get his leg high enough onto the tunnel. Almost there, he said as he strained himself, using his legs and his arms trying to push and pull himself. ... Ta da, I did it, he said to me proudly smiling and sitting on top of the tunnel. He did this all by himself and was able to experience the satisfaction of persistence and concentration as he completed his goal. What a joy to witness

09.01.2022 We celebrated another birthday today. One way that we celebrate each child on their birthday is by asking their family to send in a photo of them as a baby. We look at the photo together and talk about how much that child has grown and what a wonderful person they are. The children are so amazed to see photos of their friends as a baby and often the child is amazed by the photo as well. Today my friend was saying That’s my baby, showing the photo of herself to her other friends. I LOVE celebrating each child for their special day and making them feel loved and valued at day care. This is just one way that I promote a sense of belonging for each child within our family day care community

07.01.2022 We had sooo much fun with sand this week both indoors and outdoors. I set up this little experience and it has been used constantly all week with some children spending almost an hour of quiet, uninterrupted play exploring colours, shapes, light, sand, and even their own reflections in the mirror. I love family day care and the opportunity it provides for children to engage in unhurried play experiences like this.

02.01.2022 Oh my goodness I am so excited for my little friends to come and play next week. We just received our delivery of Fagus trucks and they are absolutely amazing! I have so many friends who are interested in vehicles at the moment and I can not wait for them to come and play. With so many cool mechanisms and special features, I know these trucks are going to be so loved for a long time. We have a fire truck, fork lift, garbage truck, and a car transporter with car
