25.01.2022 Got to squeeze some time in on developing a pawn. Will be enough time before making negatives to allow it to grow on me.
25.01.2022 Getting down to scrappy scraps to construct plates. Just need to make more cane for murrini border and some wafers to float in crushed clear on top and I'll see what potential this has.
23.01.2022 This piece was mentioned to recipient over a year ago. I may be reading too much into a family crest motto of make haste carefully. Trusting this will get me back into making.
23.01.2022 I’m feeling childish about this, it’s fun.
22.01.2022 Second day of challenge.
21.01.2022 Has been a long winter for years. Good to be taking tentative steps back into creating what ever the fuck I like. Thank you.
21.01.2022 It has been awhile. Working away from studio mostly and when home it's house Reno. Never gets tired with me these souvenir panels hanging around the place. Can't explain why these aren't keeping me busy. Back into some IOU's once the big front stair and letter box project is complete.
20.01.2022 Done. "Eimeo Creek", the second version, revisit to "Breaking of the Day" made in 2003. An attempt to recapture the energy and excitement of that time. The base is a rock from the point of Eimeo Beach which is only a few hundred meters from the mouth of this tidal mangrove creek.
20.01.2022 How many more of us must die before the world helps us? This breaks my heart. #FreeWestPapua
19.01.2022 Probably a few more revolutions to tweak shape and finish.
18.01.2022 Have been a bit inactive on the glass front lately. Got a few ideas to realise but house and yard are priority at the moment. This is the first image shared toward a seven day challenge. Biggest challenge is figuring how many artists I know to challenge to do the same. This piece comes from an awesome exciting time at the start here at Eimeo.
18.01.2022 It has been so long.
18.01.2022 Its not a race, I just spend time to look at the flowers, trees and shades of green. But no matter how hard I look, there is no devils drug anywhere.
17.01.2022 Making a start to blow the cobwebs off. Freeing myself of the constrictions trying to develop commercial lines.
16.01.2022 Once I let go the head took shape. Eventually it will be an armoured horse to represent my Knight in the family chess sets.
16.01.2022 Wax on baby, nice and hot. REALLY!!?, can I wax my facial fluff and feel no pain? Working on making more blanks and enough flat to develop the shield for the pawn.
15.01.2022 Getting close to clearance for my day job so this soft work toward my Rook is testing my shoulder. WOW, its still summer away from the AC.
13.01.2022 This is how keen one must be to keep a glass Kilnforming studio moving forward. One benefit of downtime was to start working on a series of children's picture books. Looking back to the last week I am grateful that it wasn't unbearably freezing on top of night shift, wet and dirty.
13.01.2022 Can do was the juice back then when so much was against it to make this piece real. Im feeling that Im getting my skates back on.
13.01.2022 It has been a long haul since this day. Majority of work remains in my personal collection .Art Whitsunday have given me an opportunity to exhibit again, to celebrate the 30th Annual Exhibition held by the group .Being so close to the water should be a positive experience, being held at Abell Point Marina -Marine Club VMR. One of the pieces, a celebratory plate can be seen on this site www,imagoglass.com.au the other piece not for sale is EIMEO, home.
10.01.2022 Life is TOO short to get it!!!
09.01.2022 Still a bit raw, but very happy to have half the models on their way toward use.
09.01.2022 Will be back soon.
09.01.2022 One of the last IOUs slowly making its way to the finish line.
09.01.2022 Getting cold work done before slump/fire polish.
09.01.2022 Not so much a spring clean since its autumn but was a much needed event. Added Eureka to the see saw mind of Thoughts of a Madman My manager insists I should record what each piece represents to me in a note pad. Bugger that Im just going to tackle one bubble block at a time, one a week should do.
08.01.2022 Finally making a move on chess piece models. The Pawns shield bothered me a bit, so this use of balls and pasta can be carried over onto the other pieces.
07.01.2022 Photography rushed and rusty. Job done. Happy to have been able to make something before '17 was over.
07.01.2022 The tortured piece of "Blue Cocoon Restoration" final photo shoot. She's in Brisbane now. Just a brief description to write of WTF it means for the owner to hand to her friends when they ask WTF it means.,..haha
06.01.2022 Im feeling childish about this, its fun.
05.01.2022 Getting the oomph back to try something so daring. Dare to Fail as opposed to Who dares Wins.
05.01.2022 I guess this is why it's called a challenge. Basically I'm a recluse in training and don't connect well....hahaha
04.01.2022 In life so much is gained if flexible to change. Once upon a time this was made to sell, thank God. Imagine spending life making big awesome platters, plates, take home baptismal vessels....BORING!!! I get to enjoy it now whenever light strikes.
03.01.2022 Priestess AKA Bishop taking shape. First version.
02.01.2022 Most rocks have been collected, a fraction of them prepped to be part of a garden sculptural piece incorporating a fired/recycled float glass centre piece. All secured to home turf with a custom concrete and glass inclusion block. My guru will sort the UUUU problem of kiln controller when hes ready. WHY, why cant I just paint pet rocks for birthday presents? ha
01.01.2022 Still a bit raw, slight finesse later as the set grows.
01.01.2022 Was able to work this failed bubble block on my flat lap. My eldest sourced a new controller for the little work horse to get me rolling again. Hes also working on my main kiln plus the big green thing for the more serious work later.
01.01.2022 Preparations taking place. This effort is to assist in carving chess pieces. Three sets is ambitious, two would be excellent.
01.01.2022 Have had other things on, but this still took an effort to revisit and prep ready for plate construction. Noticed a few contaminate inclusions in the melt, haha but once I got started there was more and more. Motivated again to see this complete.
01.01.2022 Blue Cocoon Restoration, has been a long haul. Only a few more oldies to deal with before freeing self up to create new stuff. Pro shots planned to be done by end of week.
