07.01.2022 My Fatimah, I miss you The Reason for the Household of the Prophet’s (as) Hidden Cries The Household of the Prophet (as) had laments that they didn’t like other...s to hear. What do you think these were about? [Imam Reza (as) said,] Aba Salt, close the doors. I don’t want anyone to hear me. Do you think the Imams would loudly express their sorrows? My dears, God’s Friends are more dignified than to loudly express their sorrows. So what was it that the Imam didn’t want anyone to hear? This happened in the life of the Commander of the Faithful, Ali (as), too. Once he told his companions not to follow him. His companion narrated, I followed the Imam. I couldn’t leave him alone. The Imam turned to me in the dark and asked, ‘Who are you?’ I said, ‘I’m sorry but I was worried they might assassinate you.’ The Imam drew a line in front of me with his sheath. He said, ‘Fine, but don’t come beyond this. I want to be alone.’ After the Imam left, I became worried again so I followed him. When I went forward, I saw that the Imam had put his head in a well and was crying. When the Imam raised his head he saw me. When I read this next part, it really upset me. You didn’t hear what I said into the well, right? the Imam asked. The question is that if the Imam was supplicating God, that wasn’t something to hide. His companions have recorded some of the best supplications from him. The Commander of the Faithful (as) knew the etiquettes of praying. If he wanted to supplicate God, he would have prayed. There are some etiquettes for praying. But there is no narration saying to put your head in a well when you want to supplicate God. O Imam, so what were you saying?! Maybe he was saying, My Fatimah, I miss you. Maybe Ali (as) was reading an elegy. About who? Elegies about Husayn (as) are usually read loudly. The Household of the Prophet (as) only recited their mother’s [Fatimah’s] elegies in hiding. Maybe Imam Reza (as) too was crying in a corner of the room, O my mother whose ribs were broken See more
