22.01.2022 Holidays are here! I am currently on leave for the remainder of the school holidays. The clinic will reopen on Monday 19th April to a fully booked schedule for a few weeks.... Stretching, mobilising and moving for an hour is great for your body in so many ways, but what exactly are you doing for the rest of the day you are awake?? On average, we get about 16 hours throughout the day from the time we wake to the time we go to bed. A lot of people spend 1-2 hours in the gym, going for a run or some kind of movement. But have you actually become aware of what you are doing outside of these hours. For the majority of us, it is spent sedentary in a desk job, driving job and just a simply inactive job. All that good work you are putting into the gym is potentially going to waste as you spend the majority of your days inactive. We may see ourselves as highly active and hit the gym more than most but if you then go spend the next 10-12 hours sitting at your desk, sitting in the car, sitting to eat and sitting in front of the TV - think about what your brain is being taught. Your body will adapt to its most common position and for most this is a seated position. I challenge you to become more aware of your current daily habits and try to slowly change small things here and there.... I wouldn't be where I am today without each and every one of you. 2020 has definitely brought with it many challenges, close of business and so much uncertainty.
