18.01.2022 We know you’re all busy but why not get out of the busyness and come bring your smiles and use your skills for a good old’ clean up weekend at the lodge to get it ready for a fun winter season! A weekend has been arranged for 22nd to 24 May to prepare lodge for winter 2020 season prior to the managers moving in. The club will provide Free Accommodation & Food on the working bees. We have a busy summer planned with a number of significant projects to make IMBAC more comfortabl...e and modernise some facilities. Some of the projects will be contracted out due to their complexity. However, there are a lot of smaller jobs we need to do in the Summer that we need your help on. The jobs are varied and there is something for everyone, regardless of skills. Painting, carpentry, electricals, plumbing, cleaning, cooking & heaps of small easy to do tasks. Dates for 2020 working bees: Can you help? Contact the secretary of your availability [email protected] If you haven’t been to the Smiggin Holes in summer, this is the perfect time to see it in its beauty with the wild flowers blooming everywhere. If you would like to participate in a working bee or can contribute at other times to the maintenance of the lodge; please contact the club via the email links on the contact page.

09.01.2022 HELP wanted! #Skiimbac

04.01.2022 Sadly we have been advised that Bruce Etheredge passed away on the 18th September - age 94 Bruce was a founding member of IMBAC. Bruce served on the Club's Committee as the Booking Officer from 1968 to 1970 as President in 1971 and again from 1980 to 1981 Bruce was inducted as a Life Member of IMBAC in 1982... For funeral details, please contact Annemaree at the following e/mail address, [email protected] Our sincere condolences to the Etheredge Family.

01.01.2022 COVID19 and 2020 Ski Season After considerable discussion and evaluation of Government COVID requirements the committee made the difficult decision not to make the lodge available for accommodation during the 2020 winter season. This is even though it was announced during the week that the Victorian and NSW resorts would be able to operate from 22 June under revised operating models to meet the COVID guidelines.... The criteria IMBAC needs to follow is not how the resorts operate but the requirements on accommodation providers and concern for the safety of members, guests, and employees. The Government COVID requirements for accommodation providers are stringent but particularly for those with shared facilities e.g. kitchens, dining, bathrooms, drying rooms, common areas etc such as IMBAC. The Victorian plan at present does not allow overnight stays tourist accommodation if use of communal facilities required. A critical issue arose when we were advised our public liability insurance excluded claims for COVID19. We felt the benefit of the additional revenue was not considered to put the finances in jeopardy. There are already a number of clubs that have taken similar action and it is likely that more will follow suit. We are now pursuing as many cost reductions as possible to minimise the impact to club. Refunds will be made for any accommodation affected by this closure. Our treasurer has proposed an option that any current bookings paid can be transferred to the 2021 season at the same rate. If this interests you, please let the booking officer know.
