17.01.2022 A rare Matayoshi Kobudo's video.

07.01.2022 The third Matayoshi Kobudo's sai kata.

07.01.2022 Very Sad day in OKINAWA... One of the most historical sites in Okinawa and the world "Shuri Castle" has burned down. It could be rebuilt - but never replaced... Our Hearts and Love go out to the people of Okinawa on this great lost. Bill George sensei

01.01.2022 I want to share with you a very early video of Sensei Gakiya Yoshiki (), performing Matayoshi Kobudo's Choun Nu Kun (). The video shows an early, yet-t...o-be-refined kata, by an inordinately enthusiastic practitioner, one who would quit karate and focus solely on kobudo. He would work to become so masterful, that his movements would cause the air to crack. You may watch this and be impressed, or be unimpressed, but I am impressed because I knew him beyond video, when everything about his art was refined. I stayed at his home, I sweated buckets...blisters on my hands and feet, I learned many weapons under the pressure of Gakiya Sensei's strikes. His mastery became my gold-standard for hard work. Sensei devoted himself to kobudo, and it showed. Ultimately, he became Matayoshi's technical successor, and the lead instructor at the Hombu dojo, before politics became too much and he created his own organization. He created this organization (and named it) for "like-minded people who enjoy training together". This is the Okinawa Kobudo Doushi Rensei-kai ( - OKDR, for short). From the Burinkan, an OKDR dojo, Gambatte Kudasai!
