22.01.2022 29th Sunday in Ordinary Time - 5pm Mass

21.01.2022 Tomorrow's live stream Mass at 5pm will be celebrated by Bishop Brian (so don't adjust your sets!) He is coming to institute our seminarian Sinh Le as an acolyte. The live stream will be a wonderful opportunity for our two parishes of West Wollongong and Unanderra to share in this significant step for Sinh, and also for his family and friends in Vietnam to participate. Let's keep Sinh in our prayers!

07.01.2022 Sinh Le has brought so much to our parish communities at West Wollongong and Unanderra. If you are able to donate even a little to help his father and his family at this time, it would make a huge difference to them. More details in the post below from Fr Duane and in Sinh's GoFundMe page:

05.01.2022 For 800 years, the Holy Land Franciscans have served in the land made holy by the life, suffering, death and resurrection of Jesus. The annual Holy Land Collection, usually taken up on Good Friday, is this year being held in the diocese as an online collection at this time. Pope Francis has asked our parishes to support the collection which helps Christians in the Holy Land. Your support helps the church minister in parishes, provide Catholic schools and offer religious educa...tion. The Holy Land Collection also helps to preserve the sacred shrines. The wars, unrest and instability have been especially hard on Christians. In these times of crisis, the Holy Land Collection provides humanitarian aid to refugees. When you contribute to the Holy Land Collection, you become an instrument of peace and join with Catholics around the world in solidarity with the Church in the Holy Land. You can get more information and donate via this link: https://www.dow.org.au/giving/holy-land-collection/

05.01.2022 Today we celebrate the feast day of the woman and Doctor of the Church who is famous for saying "God save us from gloomy saints!" St Teresa of Avila 1515 - 1582, referred to as Teresa of the child Jesus. Teresa has the title Doctor of the Soul because her writings focused on the value of the soul and prayer. Nonetheless, mental prayer did not take on a disproportionate importance in her theology. Whether social justice, liturgy or moral theology, Teresa was a multi-dimensional figure who integrated all these fields into a complete Christian life. Her writings are incredible and she has many, many spiritual daughters cross the church. St Teresa, pray for us!
