20.01.2022 Immi Smart team, especially Harpreet and Nish did an efficient and fantastic job in taking care of our application for the Skilled Work Regional Provisional 491... Visa. Before the locked down happened, I was still able to get the chance to meet Harpreet personally to discuss the possible options in getting our visa. She was very positive about getting a visa grant before my student visa will expire and she was right. We got invited last June 2020. Then, submitted all the requirements last August. Finally, our visa was granted in October. Thank you so much for putting in so much effort, and for your quick response in answering all our inquiries. 14.01.2022 Subclass 491 NSW 2020-21 Financial Year Update The NSW Government’s limited number of interim nomination places for the 202021 financial year have been exhausted. We are currently awaiting confirmation of an additional allocation of places from the Home Affairs for the remainder of the financial year.... Regional Development Australia (RDA) offices will shortly commence assisting NSW Treasury managing applications for NSW nominations for the subclass 491 visa once the additional allocation has been confirmed. Under this new arrangement, each RDA will be responsible for setting their own eligible skilled occupations for nomination and accepting and assessing nomination applications. Information on applying for nomination through participating RDAs, including eligible skilled occupations, will be made available on their respective websites. Nomination Criteria for a 491 visa in NSW will remain consistent across all regions and can be found below. *Please note that as a result of COVID-19 and significant reductions in Australia’s Migration Program Planning Levels, the chances of being nominated are currently low and you must meet the published nomination criteria to apply.*

The Acting Minister stated in his joint media release with Senator Michaelia Cash that These occupations in the health care, construction and IT sectors will supercharge both our health and economic response t...o COVID-19. Visa holders, who have been sponsored by an Australia business in a PMSOL occupation can request an exemption from Australias travel restrictions, but will be subject to a strict 14 days quarantine on arrival at their own expense. The Commonwealth Department of Home Affairs has provided a limited number of skilled and business visa nomination places to the Government of South Australia up until the Federal Budget is delivered on 6 October 2020. ... The states allocation of interim 491 and 190 visa nominations are intended to support and prioritise South Australias economic recovery and public health response. Prospective applicants will be able to lodge an Expression of Interest (EOI) through the Department of Home Affairs SkillSelect system. An invitation to submit an online application for state-nomination will be sent to prospective applicants with EOIs that meet Commonwealth and South Australian priorities. The Government of South Australia will publish state nomination requirements on 27 August 2020. From 31 August, South Australia will commence reviewing EOIs and sending invitations to submit an online application. The states allocation of interim 188 and 132 visa nominations are intended to support the outcomes of its Business Innovation & Investment Program: High quality business owners and entrepreneurs have created genuine and sustainable business opportunities in South Australia that benefits the States economy, local businesses and the workforce.
