24.01.2022 Had to bring the big guns in to help out. *** Also, we will be closed from Good Friday 19/4/19 & re-opening on Monday 29/4/19. Taking advantage of the public holidays *** We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

23.01.2022 09 VE COMMODORE transmission fault, dropping out of drive at idle. All caused by a shrunken valve body nylon ball. As pictured the ball should be in the valve body (2nd pic) as opposed to being stuck in the separator plate (1st pic). With the ball being stuck in the separator plate causing a loss of apply pressure to the 1,2,3,4 clutch causing the vehicle to drop out of drive. Fault was fixed without removing the transmission from the vehicle.

18.01.2022 This beast has been awhile in the making. Lots of mods required to match the engines horsepower. Ready to go! Think Santa might trade the sleigh in for this sweet ride He won't need reindeers with this many horses

18.01.2022 Loving the canary yellow on this old girl. Certainly stands out.

18.01.2022 Sooo... this guy gave me a fright this morning . It took some closer inspection to identify if he was real or not. Love it!

16.01.2022 Have done a few timing chains on the Holden 3.6 engines which are known for their faults, 1st 6.0 litre in for a issue. Plastic guide broken away from the tensioner causing a rattle on low revs an deceleration. New guide and chain fitted, quiet as a mouse. Good little job and 1 happy customer

16.01.2022 Hi everyone, with everything that is happening at the moment with covid19 we are still trading as normal. We will not be changing anything unless we advised to. Will keep you updated if things change. Thank you.

16.01.2022 Hi everyone, as the new restrictions roll out we are still classified as an essential business We are still operating as normal, with covid protocols in place. Possibly having suppliers close down may effect how we operate. Until things change its business as usual. No point having time off, cant go anywhere. . Stay safe and please follow the rules that have been set in place so we can move forward. Cheers everyone.

15.01.2022 A huge thank you to Impact Automatics for their generous donation to the team and all the support they have given us. Impact Automatics is an automotive service... and repair company located in the heart of Croydon in Melbournes East. This family-owned company is dedicated to offering their customers excellent service and workmanship for all automotive repairs and service, specializing in automatic transmissions. The girls and their families really appreciate all the support you guys have given us! Thank you. http://www.impactauto.com.au/

14.01.2022 This is why we recommend servicing your transmission regularly. This filter is full of clutch material and the transmission required rebuilding. Regular servicing could have picked up this issue before it became so terminal.

14.01.2022 Out of 500 apprentices statewide with Next Gear, our very own Emily came runner up apprentice of the year for 2017. In a male dominated industry it goes to show that the girls can hold their own. She manages the house, kids, books and apprenticeship with an admirable drive. Very proud of her!!!

13.01.2022 Just a reminder that we will be closed from 12pm on the 22nd of Dec. 2017 until 8am on the 8th of Jan. 2018. We would like to thank you all for your continued support. We wish each and everyone of you a very Merry and safe Christmas break.

13.01.2022 Hi All, Just a quick note to tell you that we are booked out for the rest of this week and most of next week. If you want your car serviced before the chrissy holidays please book in as soon as you can to avoid the rush and ensure you have a smooth motoring Christmas break. Cheers Guys

13.01.2022 2010 Toyota Prado transfer case input fault. Owner had vehicle at a Toyota dealership for a loss of drive in the transmission. Toyota told them they need a new transmission with a cost of around $7000. We inspected the fault and found it not be the transmission as reported. It had broken the input shaft of the transfer case, new shaft fitted and back in the vehicle. Problem solved for a third of the cost. Always take your vehicle back to the dealer because they know your car better than we do

13.01.2022 So lovely to receive this thankyou postcard in the mail today. Love it when hard work is noticed and appreciated

11.01.2022 Sometimes it doesn't pay to do your own automatic transmission service. While trying to remove the pan and cutting through the sealer with a blade, they had managed to cut through the wiring harness without damaging the harness sleeve. Not knowing the wiring was damaged the pan is refitted and bingo transmission doesn't work correctly. Harsh engagements and no 4th or 5th gear. In the end, fit new harness and redo the work that has already been done from the owner, costing more than the original service.

11.01.2022 Fitting a reconditioned torque conveter to a subaru cvt transmission due to converter clutch fault. Its easier to remove the engine than the transmission.

10.01.2022 A nice clean workshop to come back to after the break. Thanks to Brendan haigh for help cleaning the floors.

09.01.2022 Pressure switch repair on 6 speed commodore transmission computer. With the right tools they can be repaired instead of replacing, which is a lot cheaper and no computer progamming required.

09.01.2022 Installing a secondary transmission cooler to this sweet set up. Secondary coolers help to keep the temp down in the trans and avoid heat related faults and to prolong the life of the transmission fluid. Especially handy for tow vehicles & 4WD's.

08.01.2022 Hoping for some more sun drenched days so we can defrost ourselves . Call us for any servicing needs on your vehicles; as they too have struggled through this long cold winter, hopefully in better condition than we have .

08.01.2022 The month of may marks 25 years of service to Impact Automatics for Graeme. Starting as an apprentice back in 1995 i got to work with some great people that i learned a great deal from, working along side Mark Craig, Klaus Rosin, David Sampson, John Stewart and not forgetting Maureen Craig. As people came and went i hung around looking at a bigger picture. After 16 years of service to Mark and Maureen as an employee and the support of my wife Emily and I, we made the decisio...n to take the business over from them. 9 years on and the business in still going well. I have been very lucky to have had such great people to mentor and support me in these 25 years of service to Impact Automatics. It is an goal that i am very proud of and still keep in contact with all the guys that i started with. As a kid i always wanted to be a mechanic i am greatfull for someone seeing the potential in me. See more

06.01.2022 Some new art work, should stand out. The workshop will be closed this Friday and Monday for the long weekend. Hope ya back a winner.

06.01.2022 The family are away and check out what they get to be looking at. How hot is this?!

06.01.2022 Thunderbirds are go!

06.01.2022 Owned by the same guy since 1973. Getting it ready for the road. Immaculate!

05.01.2022 With the warmer weather coming out, this beauty made an entrance for some tlc. Keep them coming.

04.01.2022 Done in a day. Changeover units from our shelves are a quick and hassle free option for transmission issues.

04.01.2022 What a busy morning at Impact this morning, not a spare hoist in the place and a 6.45 start. Early night for me on the cards.

02.01.2022 Feels like we're in a timewarp today. Loving it.

01.01.2022 This is an excellent method of keeping cool! We hope you are all enjoying this burst of warm weather
