13.01.2022 The Tasmanian Fire Service responds to more than 350 house fires each year and Tasmania has one of the highest fire fatality rates per capita in Australia. Fire Safety Tips... Have you replaced your smoke alarm batteries?... Have you cleaned your fireplace or chimney? This month the Impact Crew along with Troublesmiths went through their first Fire Drill with the added smoke for effect from Steve's (from Complete Fire Safety) groovy smoke machine.
13.01.2022 A Tasmanian employment program for mature job seekers who are at risk of long-term unemployment is making an impact, its trials have shown. The Advanced Job Reach program supported mature-aged job seekers in southern Tasmania to not only gain necessary work skills but to believe in themselves.
12.01.2022 Yesterday in the state budget our Troublesmiths social enterprise was allocated $420,000 over the next two years. This will enable us to expand the work we do and support more Tasmanian young people into employment. Very exciting news. Thank you to the State Government, Workskills and all those who support the work we do! Also congratulations to Hamlet Cafe http://www.premier.tas.gov.au/budget_2020/electorate/clark
11.01.2022 Right now, our ANZAC spirit is more important than ever. In the lead-up to ANZAC Day, RSLs across the nation are asking you to show your ANZAC spirit by partici...pating in Light Up the Dawn. Just imagine how special it would be if every Australian was standing in their driveway at 6am on ANZAC Day, candles in hand, united in spirit to remember all those who have served and sacrificed. We are creating a special partnership for 'Light Up the Dawn', donating 25% of each Candle in a Can purchase to Mates4Mates. Mates4Mates is one of Australia’s leading charities actively changing the lives of current and ex-serving Australian Defence Force members, and their families, impacted by service. Head to www.troublesmiths.com.au to purchase a Light Up the Dawn candle that makes a difference. We are offering a free delivery service for Candles in a Can purchased in Hobart and the greater surrounds. RSL Tasmania South Arm RSL Sub-Branch Inc. Claremont RSL Rsl Sorell RSL Sub Branch Inc. Here at Workskills, we are really proud of the impact we have through providing funding and jobseeker support to the Troublesmiths social enterprise. Troublesmiths helps young unemployed Tasmanians gain skills, confidence and connections through making and selling high quality handmade products.
