24.01.2022 Didn't see this on C7 as I'm in the UK but I assume that Slater is making the point that whilst Pukovski's set up position is very good (and mirrors the other two) he then ends up blocking himself off by pushing the front leg across to the offside rather than down the wicket thus forcing him to play around that front pad and making himself an LBW candidate.

22.01.2022 Never been a big fan of Travis Head as I've always thought he's susceptible in the ring from the keeper to just in front of point as when the pressure builds he has a tendency to just throw his hands at the ball meaning he has no control of where the ball is going. Perfect example in the 2nd innings at the MCG when Australia were screaming out for someone to dig in and grind out a score. As you can see in the picture the front foot has gone nowhere, the head is well outside the line of the body and he has no control of the bat ...result = caught at 3rd/4th slip this time

19.01.2022 Promising debut from Will Pucovski but it will be interesting to see how opposition teams adjust their bowling plans given he has such a big trigger movement. IMO I think you'll find that teams will bowl straighter at him with the "leg theory" field that has been successful against Smith and Labuschagne.

18.01.2022 I'm in the UK at present so the opportunity to get out and coach isn't there at present so I'm reduced to watching on TV and highlighting things that I see. South Africa v Sri Lanka and the Sri Lankans decided to go around the wicket and try and bounce Faf du Plessis out - Nothing untoward in the first picture (regulation field field with the two close catchers for the fended ball and a long leg (not in picture) for the top edge In the second picture we can see that the Sri L...ankans had actually posted a back stop for the top edge that goes over the keeper and whilst in this instant the ball just cleared him and went one bounce for 4 the moral is if the game is slipping away or you need to break a big partnership never be afraid to set a field irrespective of how funky or strange it might look as it only takes 1 ball to change the momentum of a game. 15.01.2022 The stills here show that World Number 1 batsman Kane Williamson, Steve Smith and Marnus Labushagne, all have their backfoot and head on off stump at ball release. Compare that to several of the Indian batsmen who continue to stand on leg stump which makes them prone to being caught behind the wicket.

10.01.2022 India were blown away in Adelaide by some very good bowling but contributed to their downfall with some indecisive footwork. These four dismissals highlight a couple of technical deficiencies namely not covering the off stump and poor footwork - none of the four batsmen have got back or forward they've basically played at the ball with little or no foot movement and simply pushed the hands at the ball. Work to be done before the MCG by the batting unit

02.01.2022 Joe Burns has fallen prey to the same technical issues that David Warner had during the last Ashes series in the UK - locked front leg and the hands/bat then end up pushing at the ball and contact is made well in front of the head. It's a common technical issue that impacts many batsmen at various times and surely the Australian coaching staff should be able to iron this out within a few sessions

02.01.2022 Any connection between the unnatural head positions of two of these bowlers and their injury plagued careers?
