21.01.2022 Our little continuation of yesterday’s post We’ve provided a few examples of some wonderful stretches you could complete at home in between resting your legs from their injury (we hope you’re resting ) Some other management / prevention techniques include:... - Proper footwear: Shoes that do not fit you well nor provide proper support during physical activity will not support your lower limb - Incorporate stretching as part of your warm up/ cool down - If you find yourself completing repetitive movements, remember to take a break to give your muscles some time to heal

12.01.2022 PATELLA TENDINOPATHY We hope you all enjoyed your little break from us and are now ready to continue learning and reading our punny posts Our condition of the day is Patella Tendinopathy! As you can see in our first slide, we have this small tendon right below our patella (knee cap) which is amazing for working with the muscles that surround our thigh and helps us straighten our legs. However, if we begin to have small tears or inflammation in this wonderful tendon, it ca...n make it really painful for us to walk, exercise and complete our normal activities This injury usually occurs as a result of continuously overloading our patella, which can cause this joint to over-stress as it is working more than it should. This could be due to working out too hard at the gym or repeatedly jumping! E.g. in sports such as basketball, soccer, football, dancing, or gymnastics. We can use our little RICER method when we suspect we have patella tendinopathy and make sure we rest our knee and perform the appropriate stretches / exercises. Stay tuned for our next magical post that will have some nice exercises to help you get back to a pain-free day!

08.01.2022 A tip of the day to remind us all on why we should stretch our upper limbs everyday We are all prone to muscle stiffness & tightness around our shoulder / neck region due to a variety of factors that could cause strain on our upper limb muscles. These includes activities such as: - Driving... - Sitting on a desk for long hours - Working on a PC - Sleeping with poor posture Which is why we should incorporate upper limb stretching and range of motion movements as part of our daily routine! We must make sure our muscles are working around their joints are not stuck in a static position, and this could cause pain and tension. Take a look through our post to see an example of an exercise you could do every morning and afternoon!

07.01.2022 Yes we can help with pain management techniques A variety of conditions could cause stiff legs such as: - Rheumatoid Arthritis... - Osteoarthritis - Osteoporosis / Osteopenia - Sciatica - ACL / PCL Injury And the list goes on! However, the important thing to remember is that there is always a solution! Just because your condition could cause stiffness, that does not mean we can't help perform less aggravating movements to help address the issue We specialise in making tailored exercise programs to help combat these problems and help you through the little bumps on the way!

04.01.2022 An example of a sport-related injury from yesterday’s post, Shin Splints! (And no it does not mean you split your shin ) Similar to many conditions, shin splits can arise from overuse and repetitive movements which cause our muscles, tendons & bone tissue to get injured as a result from their continuous strenuous work. Shin Splints often cause symptoms of pain surrounding your tibial area and exhibit signs of mild swelling. And what’s the best way to help with this? REST! W...e need to give our poor muscles a break every now and then from doing repetitive movements. This injury could often occur with playing sports such as: - Football - Soccer - Netball - Basketball - Oztag Watch out for our next post where we will show you some nice recovery strategies
