24.01.2022 Hello everyone. My name is George and I own, manage and do everything for Imperator Menswear. Im going to be dropping the we pretension for this post as it I usually dont like to make these posts personal but I am going to make an exception here. That charming man in the centre is Colin. And I owe Colin a very deep thank you for coming in and shopping with me.... For context: with most suits, after a certain size threshold manufacturers charge retailers a surcharge for larger mens suit. A lot of retailers pass this surcharge onto their customers, which they have every right to do. But when I set up Imperator, I made the conscious decision to absorb that surcharge. Ive worked in places in the past and nothing grinds a wedding experience to a halt than having to tell the big boys that they are getting singled-out for being big. Most retailers wont even stock the bigger sizes on fear that they wont make as much margin. Colin was the first gent in the big and tall category to acquire the $299 Velite pack with no surcharge. I had the items in-store, and he walked in and out that day not needing to come back for refits while I ordered the size that fit him best. And I remember that look in his eyes when I had his sizes here and ready to go. I had grown bitter somewhat at the wedding and menswear industry, but having Colin come in appreciate the effort I made for people like him put a smile on both my face and my heart. I directly attribute my reinvigoration for my work directly to Colin. People like Colin are why I get up every day. I want every man to feel like a king once in their life, and your height or weight should not be a barrier for you getting a fair price. He has had a profound impact on someone who was a total stranger by doing nothing at all but be himself. 11.01.2022 On this day 75 years ago, an explosion like no other levelled the city of Hiroshima. Upon detonation, estimates say that 50,000 people lost their lives and another 150,000 perished due to injuries and radiation. I would have liked to be in Japan this year to commemorate the bombings. It’s been really than a decade since I saw my family there and it would be nice to get to know them as an adult and not an unruly teenager. And yesterday, I had the misfortune of watching a mush...room cloud form in the heart of Beirut. It seems cruel that a historic explosion would fall so short of the anniversary of another devastating explosion. Nobody deserves to go that way. Not even my worst enemies. I hope those responsible for Beirut are brought to justice swiftly and with great force. And it is my hope, that with the world being the way it is right now, the sacrifice of the people of Hiroshima and Nagasaki is not forgotten. Every day you wake up alive and in one piece is a blessing. Make the most of it.
