23.01.2022 Bright sunny days and cool clear nights. Loving autumn in The Hill! Welcome to our guests here this weekend for the Broken Hill Mountain Bike Club Poker Race at #Silverton

20.01.2022 She's been mighty nippy this week in the Hill! OK - maybe not quite this bad (photo circa the 70s - who remembers Golden Fleece petrol?!) but I know the brass monkeys aren't happy! Perhaps a hot chocolate at Bells Milk Bar then jumping under the doona?

20.01.2022 We dont like to brag but.....who am I kidding: yes we do! The Imperial's garden is going gangbusters! Just waiting for Facebook to introduce smellovision: divine! Another reason to come visit Broken Hill: our roses! (What do you reckon 25in25?)

18.01.2022 Shout out to the talented Argent St shopkeepers! Some really beautiful window displays make for a great day of retail therapy. This lovely one is The Poet and the Peasant Coffee Lounge and Chik Bliss but also check out The Lollipop Tree for gorgeous kids wear.

14.01.2022 Great to see so many basketballers and their parents in town this week for the NSW PSSA Girls Basketball Championships at the RK Sanderson Stadium. I hear the games have been terrific.

13.01.2022 It started like this (photo 1: apparently they were practising a photo finish!) and ended with photo 2: winners are grinners! Congratulations to our guest Lukas (Austria via Adelaide) on a winning hand at the Broken Hill Mountain Bike Club's Poker Race and an excellent Amanda Johnson painting from Willy Nilly Art prize. Icing on the cake of a great weekend!

13.01.2022 Do you keep a travel diary? Have you set off on the grand trip of a lifetime with great intentions of capturing it all in a much-loved, dog-eared, wine-stained journal, with each character, meal, bed, donkey mentioned so you can re-live the memories in years to come....only to get home and find the memories of everything after take-off limited to some maps, ticket stubs and your credit card statement? Same. Here's an idea: review as you go. Leave a review on TripAdvisor or on the Facebook page of wherever you are eating, sleeping, dancing, swooning. We'd love to hear about your stay at The Imperial Fine Accommodation. Share the love!

12.01.2022 Broken Hill is spoiled for choice when it comes to art shows. If you are in town over the next few weeks make sure you check out Broken Hill Regional Art Gallery and the BARKA The Forgotten River exhibition featuring local legend, Badger Bates.

10.01.2022 Well done to Broken Hill Art Exchange producing a must-have guide to Broken Hill's galleries. Just what the collector ordered! As Molly says, do yourself a favour! brokenhillartexchange.org.au/Publications.php

10.01.2022 Have you ever set off on a holiday or work trip and realised you've left that can't-put-it-down book behind? The great folks at Under the Silver Tree have got you covered with a huge range of pre-loved books to choose from. But wait: there's more! Better than steak knives! Book ninjas are sprinkling books around Broken Hill to encourage book sharing. If you find one, read it and pass it on!

10.01.2022 Favourite holiday game: billiards? Made me feel like a gangster. Trivial Pursuit? Made all those years of high school geography and watching Countdown seem worthwhile. Gin rummy? Seemed like one step removed from a casino. Monopoly? Always ended in tears. How about you?

01.01.2022 Need some retail therapy? Argent St is the place and you can't go past Thom, Dick & Harry's - Broken Hill. Hot chocolate baguettes great salads and soups not to mention beautiful flowers and kitchenware and everything else. (Believe me, you'll need a bag!)

01.01.2022 Did you hear the one about the emu walking into the pub? True story: I saw an emu walking along Oxide St this week, crossing the road and heading for the Mulga Hill Tavern. (The crumbed sausages must be on special!) Love the outback!
