15.01.2022 Digital Smile Design is incredible. There is absolutely no denying the life changing impact this virtual visualisation has on your patients experience with you. Increase the communication between all parties, reduce the guesswork, blow your patients minds and change their lives forever by adding this incredible software.... You can even add 3D facial scanning to assess aesthetic proposals from all directions. Need dental implants too? No problem; just bring the accepted designs and images into Implant Studio (and other surgical planning software) with your CBCT scans and place the implants exactly in relation to the definitive, accepted restorations. If your patient want to show friends and family prior to committing, you can directly send the virtual proposal to their phone to take home. This 2D proposal was completed in 10-15min but changed the patients dental experience for her lifetime. This is truly something that analogue systems cannot do and the technology is just getting started..

10.01.2022 Is it really all hype?? Well yes and no. Looking past all the sales pitches and grasping the tangible scientific didactic, you'll find many parts of Digital Dentistry now have significant merit within decades of ongoing extensive research. What you'll find as you embrace new technologies are progressive "Rabbit-Hole" scenarios. The learning curve looks like a roller coaster, big climbs then a fall through a "Rabbit-Hole" of new scenarios and information to quantify into your ...practice. Implementation of ANY new process generally results in some form of initial downturn in profits - that part is not new in ANY business arena. However the longer you spend trying to quantify all the new info, the longer and the more arduous the mastery of technology becomes; usually resulting in significantly bloated ROI figures... The most effective way to cut through the expensive part of the transition into Digital Dentistry technology, and any new technology for that matter, is to get the real 'how-to' from experts with wealths of coal face experience... The other salient part to the equation is what technology can offer entirely differently to analogue and/or simply do better than analogue. Furthermore, what are the aspects of analogue that we consider as 'normal' discrepancies? Can a digital workflow reduce and/or eliminate the occurrence of these inaccuracies entirely? Can we change the way we look at some aspects of dentistry completely? This is where things get interesting.
