23.01.2022 Today is the 56th anniversary of the heroic and deadly battle of Long Tan in Phuoc Tuy Province. We lost 18 men KIA whilst the enemy lost hundreds. The importance of this battle cannot be underestimated as it halted a serious push against the Task Force base at Nui Dat which was yet to complete the protective wire around the base. So well done to Harry Smith and his men of D Company 6RAR, the APCs and the NZ 161 Battery. RIP , NEVER FORGOTTEN.

19.01.2022 Welcome to Catalogue 234, September 2020. Oh, and the Simmo paperback is in! You can order online. As we go to print on this ‘soon to be spring’ day, we celebrate the remarkable Teddy Sheean who is to be awarded the VC for his actions on HMAS ARMIDALE on 1 December 1942. At 18 years old the youngest member of the crew when it was attacked by Japanese planes off Timor. Instead of abandoning ship like he was ordered he made his way aft to the 20mm Oerlikon AA gun, strapped him...self in and commenced firing on the attacking planes to protect his ship mates in the water. He managed to down one of the planes and damaged another before the ARMIDALE finally sunk taking Teddy with it. Finally, in recent weeks, the PM submitted the recommendation to the Queen and it was approved immediately. This is the first VC ever awarded to a RAN man since forever. Onya Teddy, what a hero! https://www.imprimaturbooks.com.au//upl/2020/08/Cat234.pdf

18.01.2022 Simmo - a review "Outstanding! Superbly written! a riveting and unforgettable journey through time. Simmo captures the very essence of the man, his serious side, his humour, the larrikin in him, his humility, the family man and his undying loyalty to his men and to Queen and Country. It is compelling reading! I couldn’t put the book down! On occasion, in Vietnam, I’d met Ray Simpson, but never really knew him: reading Simmo gave me that outstanding privilege."
