Dear Members and friends of the Society, As Im sure you are all aware the Assumption of Mary is the most significant celebration of the year for all people of Imvrian descent. As is customary, the Imvrians Society of Melbourne will be hosting a celebration to mark the event on the Sunday following the official day of commemoration. This year it will take place on Sunday 18 August 2019, at the Club - 28 Balcombe Road, Mentone VIC 3194. Cost of entry will be $25 for members and $30 for non-members, which will include the traditional meal and drinks (beer, wine and soft drinks). Children under 16 will have Free Admission. 2019 has proven to be an exciting year for the Society with a resurgence in interest and attendance from younger generations. We hope to see this continue into the future and encourage all second and third generation Imvrians and friends to attend; especially those who have not yet found the opportunity to reconnect with the Society over the last year. For those who would like to make a customary donation to assist with catering the celebration, we would appreciate if you could make contact with Zinovia Gena Asimoglu on 0416 204 487 at your earliest convenience to assist with the planning of the event. The donation of a sweet on the day of the day would also be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for your support and we look forward to seeing you all again on the day.

14.01.2022 Dear members and friends of the Society, The Imvrians’ Society of Melbourne invites you to attend the Annual General Meeting, which will be held Sunday 20 Octob...er 2019 at 3pm at the Society’s premises at 28 Balcombe Road, Mentone. The election of a new Executive Committee takes place every two years, as per the Society’s Constitution. This year, being an election year, nominations for committee members will be accepted at the AGM. In the event of more than 11 nominations, a further meeting will be scheduled for elections to take place. We invite all financial members to consider nominating themselves as a committee member. Please be advised that you must be a current financial member (2019-2020) to be able to nominate on the day. You can renew your membership on the day, prior to commencement of the meeting. If you would like a particular topic to be included in the Agenda for the upcoming AGM, please email or phone to the address or number below. 14.01.2022 Great to meet up today at Vanilla in Oakleigh with George xinos from Melbourne's Imbos society to discuss commemorative projects to build awareness of the Aegea...n island of imbros and the connection of it and it's people to Australia's Anzac story. Brought back lots of memories of my visit to Imbros and its Anzac sites a few years ago - including seeing Lemnos from Imbros (photo below)! Looking forward to working together in the future.
