21.01.2022 If you are going away this holiday season and can't take your pets with you, PLEASE find them appropriate in-home care, a pet-sitter or boarding. If you can't find or afford any of those, find that neighbour, or friend or family member or a social media connection who is trustworthy, responsible, and caring with an animal loving heart that will do it for free or trade or in exchange for you doing the same for them. Heartbreakingly, the peak season of Pet Dumping, Releasing a...nd Abandonment has begun. The pounds, shelters and rescues are already full to overflowing! Many will die in these places as very few are no-kill. If you're contemplating PDRA...STOP! Your pet deserves love, not being dumped, abandoned or released to fend for themselves by the humans THEY love. Your pet relies on you for everything. They will not survive out on their own. Dumping, releasing and abandonment is cruel, inhumane, immoral & a death sentence for most .... PLEASE.... BE A BETTER HUMAN!

18.01.2022 Myxomatosis alert ! Weve sadly heard of cases in the last week all over Melbourne - western suburbs / laverton/ footscray, diamond creek, and in the city. Ther...e is no vaccine for Myxo in Australia , and no cure . It is transmitted either by direct ( nose to nose) contact with infected rabbits, or by mosquito bites. It causes fever and swelling of the eyes, ears and genitalia. The best defense is to keep your rabbits completely indoors, especially at dawn and dusk, when mosquitoes are most active. If you cant keep them indoors then use mosquito netting. Stay safe everyone! See more

15.01.2022 Is your rabbit off their kale? This is an old Scottish expression meaning that someone is too unwell to eat. Kale was such a staple food for the Scots that you'...d have to be very unwell not to want to eat it. The same can be true of our bunnies. If you find your rabbit one day not wanting to eat a usually favourite food, it could mean that they are unwell and need to see a vet. Unlike other pets, a rabbit who is not eating can become very unwell, very quickly. It is a great idea to be aware of your buns' normal eating habits so you can tell when something is not right. And if you're worried, contact the Rabbit Doctors or CARE (24hrs) on 94176417. Post photos of your buns eating their favourite veggie or treat below!

13.01.2022 If you got a dog/puppy, would you keep him/her in a cage? NO If you got a cat/kitten, would you keep him/her in a cage? NO We bunnies are no different. Please please don't keep us in a cage. Its a prison and all we want to do is run, binky and stretch out when we have a nap. Thank you Love from all bunnies
