21.01.2022 Victoria's Secret declared bankruptcy. Zara closed 1.200 stores. Chanel, Hermes and Rolex have stopped production. Nike is getting ready for stage two of layoff...s. AirBnb founder says that due to the pandemic, 12 years of effort were destroyed in 6 weeks. Starbucks announced the permanent closure of 400 stores. And the list continues... Five months since the pandemic started and it has created huge debts, many of our friends and family are out of work and unemployed with tens of thousands of businesses now out of service. If the company you work for continues, no pay reduction or layoffs then treat it well and have respect for what the owner(s) must be going through to keep it going. 2020 is about survival, leave the daily complaints/moans and anything else minor behind, be thankful and show respect for what you have. Work hard and show your boss/owner/company the appreciation they need and deserve. *copied from elsewhere lets spread it.

18.01.2022 The Election Outcome! What we expect is on the agenda Low and Middle Income Tax Offset Proposed by the government in the April budget, this offset is expected to be one of the first bills to be introduced. The tax offset, of up to $1,080 for those on incomes of $90,000 or less for the 2019 (current) financial year which then phases down for those on incomes between $90,000 and $126,000, would provide immediate tax relief for low and middle income individuals....Continue reading

14.01.2022 More on the Super Amnesty.... Superannuation Amnesty - Now Law! Today Parliament passed legislation to enact the Superannuation Amnesty.... The Amnesty is designed to encourage employers to come forward and disclose past quarters from (1 July 1992 to 24 May 2018) where they have not paid Superannuation Guarantee to employees in full (i.e. an SG shortfall still exists). The Amnesty period in which employers can come forward is from 24 May 2018 and ends six months after the date the legislation receives Royal Assent (therefore until at least late August 2020). Under the Amnesty, the employer in coming forward will enjoy the following benefits: Tax deductions for payments of the SG Charge No administrative penalty of $20 per employee No Part 7 penalties (which could otherwise be 200% of the SG Charge owing). It is anticipated more than 7,000 additional employers will come forward now that the legislation has passed. Given that SG non-compliance can now be more easily detected by the ATO, non-complying employer clients should strongly consider their options. Employers who do wish to take advantage of the Amnesty should contact the ATO.

04.01.2022 The date for AUSKey decommissioning remains 27 March. This is a hard date. The ATO has no discretion to delay the changeover. If you havent already swapped over do it today! Most of our clients, we lodge for so theres nothing to do. If you need a hand to set this up, give us a call. If you need any ATO assistance average call times are 7 seconds. The ATO staff are all Australian based so are not impacted by overseas call centre shutdowns.... Everyone is being impacted in different ways, its challenging. For some of you its business as usual, for some, you cant work. Remember everyone is doing the best they can in a rapidly changing and unprecedented environment. Be kind, be patient. And remember we are here for you.
03.01.2022 Last Day for getting your Super in to the Clearing House to get a 2019 deduction.
