22.01.2022 POOR POSTURE CAN AFFECT MORE THAN JUST YOUR LOOKS!! Lecture time again- sorry If you are a client of mine you would have heard me say, that whilst doing a Pilates is so beneficial!! The real change happens in your body, when you apply Pilates posture and principals in your day to day lives!! Moving the way that you should! It’s the most valuable thing you’ll learn in class!... I often see people slouching, or wearing their shoulders up around their ears! I get so tempted to correct them, but I force myself to hold my tongue, so that I don’t become that annoying person lol A lot of people don’t realise how important it is to have good posture! So, I’m going to tell you some of the reasons why it's so important! Apart from looking poised, healthy and confident, when you maintain good posture, you reinforce the important alignment in your neck and back, and you can keep your spine in its natural line and therefore, healthy. You also balance your weight equally across your joints, rather than regularly putting more stress on some. If you have poor posture, it is not only bad for your spine in the present, but it can also have these negative effects later in life as well: Back Pain/ Body aches/Headaches/Carpel Tunnel Sleep problems Poor Circulation, Varcous Veins, Cardiovascular issues Poor Breathing Fatigue Negative mood/ Increased Stress levels Poor Digestion Good posture is essential if you want to stay physically fit. To sum it up, good posture is a sign of good health! So, I encourage you all to take the time to try and get up and move during the day, sit tall and don’t slouch! Have a daily stretch/exercise routine. Or better yet - start a Pilates class with me!! In class we focus on building strength and stability in the body around good posture and alignment. We cover it in depth in the Introduction Class, and we constantly reinforce good alignment and set-up for each exercise that we do in class. There will be NO Tuesday Classes this term in Doreen or Hurstbridge. 08.01.2022 CALLING ALL MEN! Come and Join our MEN ONLY MAT PILATES CLASS! Wednesdays @ 8pm in Doreen!... Starts next week! Mini Trial Offer: x3 Sessions for $35 (or if that time doesn’t suit, you can join all other classes on the timetable, which are open to everyone!) SOME BENEFITS OF PILATES FOR MEN!! 1. PILATES builds overall body strength and also develops often neglected muscle groups. Some of your muscles, like those that dominate your daily movements, are stronger than others, in Pilates we also focus on those muscles that don't typically get a lot of attention. In Pilates Mat Class you consciously move in certain ways to build muscles that you don't hit while lifting. 2. Improve flexibility. In general, the more muscle mass you have, the less flexible you are. But Pilates' focus on stretching helps prevent injuries and muscle strains, and increases range of motion. (Many Male Sports professionals use Pilates to Improve their game) 3. Build core strength & Improve Posture. Every Pilates exercise focuses on using your core to power movement in your limbs. Pilates hits your transverse abdominals, the base ab muscle under your six-pack. However, in Pilates we're not just working into your Transverse Abdominis (deepest abdominal muscle), we're also working into our Obliques as well as our pelvic floor. These are muscle you don't always hit properly in most kinds of training) 4. Improves Mental Wellbeing and focus. Pilates forces you to pay attentionyou've got to focus on your breath while working through each movement and concentrating on proper form. After a Pilates session, you'll feel refreshed and relaxed, which can even carry over into the next day if you're lucky. 5. Improves sexual stamina! Pilates strengthens the core and the pelvic floor, and men who practice it have greater control of this region of the body. At Into Pilates ALL of our other classes are aimed at both Men & Women.
