23.01.2022 At this stage because we have a Covid Safe Plan in place we believe we are able to stay open. We will let you know if things change. Gatherings in private homes and public spaces will be restricted to a maximum of 10 people. These limits do not apply to businesses operating under a COVID Safe plan.

21.01.2022 Hi Everyone Darts Queensland as the governing body has approval from Queensland Health to provide each of you with continued approval after sighting your Covid ...safety plans. Darts Queensland has been making a number of visits to associations to check Covid Safety plans are effective and will continue to do this. The reason for these visits to assist each of you to remain playing in these trying times. Some of the issues that we have come across is as follows: 1. The Sitting Rule brought in by Licensing and Qld Health. This is not a Darts Queensland Rule but each of you must abide by it. Anyone breaking these rules continuously will be reported to licencing as we can not risk our sport being closed down due to this behaviour. Under Licensing rules all patrons must be seated when eating or Drinking. (this includes all types of drinks including water). Venues can be fined up to $6672 for failing to police this. This also includes a sip whilst playing. Licencing Commission advise the following: Patrons do not have to be seated in DOSA unless they are consuming drinks. Darts and Pool is allowed to be played in a licence venue, provided you follow your Covid Safety rules. Players are still required to be seated while eating and drinking and are not permitted to stand around watching the game of darts. As advised yesterday, there is no exemption to this, and anyone who does not apply needs to be asked to leave the venue. Each Club has been asked to provide us with a revised plan to cover this. We are still waiting on some of these plans. 2. Safety Officer and Committee not vigilant in policing the Covid Plans - We suggest that more than one Covid Safety officer be appointed for each club and that the committee ensure that they are up to speed with what is required. People who are not complying need to be identified and the behaviour needs to cease. Some of the behaviours are putting us all at risk. If the same member continue to disobey the directors or the Covid Officer or Committee, then they should be asked to leave and not return. 3. Social Distancing not being adhered to. Board placement is important to maintain social distancing along with Table and Chair placement. Chairs should not be moved by patrons. Your plans have been approved specifically to cover this. Any variation to these plans needs to be approved by Darts Queensland. 4. Remember there is no longer the handshake (or fist touch) allowed at the beginning or end of a game. This is the worst thing that anyone who is meant to be using good hygiene can do. You can touch elbows but not hands. Please ensure this is not happening in your clubs. 5. Record keeping - Time of Arrival and Time of Departure is important, players should not be requested to put a blanket departure time on the form when arriving. If they fail to sign out at the end of the night, the covid officer can complete the time. But all players and visitors should be asked to complete the log correctly. Failing to do the above is putting our sport at risk, and we need to start to see some improvement when visiting. If we continue to see issues, we may need to ask the committee to show cause why your club should continue to play under our Covid Safety approval. 17.01.2022 We will be open again on Monday 13th July with our Dee Ferguson Super Singles, Thursday 1st Division starting the same week 2nd division starting the following week. Both Thursday divisions will be playing fortnightly until further notice. All Covid safely measures are in place and we are looking forward to welcoming all our dart players back.

16.01.2022 Public Health Alert Community members on Brisbanes southside are asked to remain alert but not alarmed as Queensland records three new cases of novel cor...onavirus (COVID-19). The first case is a 19-year-old woman who tested positive after travelling interstate last week. She is an employee at Parklands Christian College on Brisbanes southside. Queensland Health is working closely with the school which has temporarily closed until further notice. The second case is a 19-year-old female travel companion. Both cases travelled interstate together last week. It is believed they contracted the virus in Melbourne, Victoria. The third reported case is a known close contact, a 22-year-old woman, who tested positive later today. This individual is an employee of YMCA Chatswood Hills Outside School Hours Care. Queensland Health is working closely with the school and the care centre, both of which have temporarily closed until further notice.
