13.01.2022 Splish splash I was taking a bath how was I to know there was a bird tour going on?! One of the highlights from this weekend’s free guided tour at Inala Natur...e Tours was catching sight of this swiftie taking a dip in the Inala creek. This beautiful parrot species is critically endangered and, to ensure its survival, it is essential to conserve mature eucalypt dominated forests and woodlands both for food resources and for the formation of suitable nesting hollows. It looks like they might be partial to a nice bit of creek frontage too! This event was supported by NRM South through funding from the Australian Government’s National Landcare Program. See more

06.01.2022 Wonderful visit from a merry gang from the Tasmanian Field Naturalists dodging the showers yesterday at the Inala Conservation Reserve. They helped bioblitz our fantastic array of flora and fauna and name some of the more obscure and unusual insect and fungi species in Inala’s biodiverse environment. We have also just established an iNaturalist.org project for The Inala Foundation so every guest staying at inala can add their images to the collective pot of knowledge if they... wish. It is fabulous watching all the images from yesterdays visit flow in already. https://www.inaturalist.org/projects/inala-nature-foundation Images: Catherine Young
