25.01.2022 Movement for BRAIN HEALTH - Movement supplies brain cells with oxygen, promotes the production of new healthy brain cells and increases the health of synapses needed for nerve and muscle health and function. - - - - Walking 30 - 40 minutes a day, 3 times per week can help growth of structures in the brain linked with cognitive decline in adults. - - - - The cerebellum, controls balance coordination and muscle control / movement ( walking etc.)... The pre-frontal cortex is also stimulated through physical movement by improving concentration, allertness and memory. - Movement for HORMONE HEALTH Physical movement and exercise is needed for hormones releases to do their job daily! So many are stimulated by aerobic or anaerobic exercise and needed for many functions in the body. Movement for NERVE HEALTH - Motor Nerves, control movements and actions by sending information signals from the brain and spinal cord to muscles. Sensory Nerves relay Movement for JOINT HEALTH - Physical movement is needed to remove cellular waste, circulate nutrients to the joints, healthy cartilage and ligament, increase healthy synovial fluid so it can move freely and smooth. (engine oil to a joint) Movement for MUSCLE HEALTH - Movement strengthens muscle tissue! Improved the oxygen and blood flow for healthy muscle tissue, removes waste buildup, Healthy muscles are needed for good joint health, balance, coordination, protection, mobility, muscle contraction. Muscles and motor nerves are important to use everyday! Think of Physical Movement as nourishment for your body to thrive! 20.01.2022 LATTISSIMUS DORSI AKA LATTS Your latts play such an important role for your shoulders, back, trunk, hips and sacroiliac spine. Yup! They are extremely important for your walking aswell. Do your arms swing whilst walking? This is your connection if the shoulders right through to the opposite hip and sacroiliac spine. This also affects your glute muscles when tight.... The latts can become tight and cause many restrictions throughout the body. Restrictions with breathing / respiration. Rib restriction or pain Lower back and sacroiliac tightness or pain. shoulder and arm restrictions with overhead movements. Upper back restrictions in movements likes rotation, flexion..bending forward or backwards or side bending. The latts cross of many joints and interact with alot of other muscle groups. They can sometimes overpower smaller muscles of the shoulder too. If the latts begin to get tight at the shoulder, thoracic spine or rib cage it will impact on the lower back and hips. The latts are innervated by the thoracodorsal nerve from nerve roots C6, 7 and 8 from your neck. It can also affect arm and grip strength. Try rolling them out with a ball and roller. The ball can stimulate the trigger points of the muscle and the roller can give it that added stretch and blood flow. Stretching after will feel alot better.

19.01.2022 The Nervous System (NS) is fundamental to the health and function of your whole body. Antioxidants are key for a healthy Nervous System. This includes brain and hormone / neurotransmitter function, nerve & cell repair, muscle, nerve & joint health, pain relief and strength, organ function & regeneration (heart, lung, liver, thyroid, gut) - Immune system health. Vitamin A - Vital for cell growth and repair, protects cells from radical damage, eye / vision health, organ heal...th, teeth and bones, immune health and most importantly aids in muscle and nerve repair. This luscious antioxidant is also key to mood, memory and learning due to dopamine production. Vitamin B Complex- The most fundamental for the nervous system! Vital for muscle, joint and nerve function and repair. Needed for singalling of hormone releases to trigger different responses in the body e.g to move your leg, speak, eat, liver function, picking something up etc) B1 Converts glucose into energy for the support of nerve cells. B2 - Regulates red blood cells, muscous membrane health and iron metabolism which is needed for nerve and muscle function. B3 - Essential for brain health. Deficiency can cause insomnia, depression, anxiety and muscle weakness. B4 - Stabilises the nervous system, restores nerve cells, heart, liver health and blood supply to the brain. B5 - Supports nervous system health with memory and learning. Reduces fatigue and exhaustion. B6 - Key role to hormonal balance and function of the immune system. It is vital to the production of serotonin which will influence mood. Protects nerve endings from damage. B12 - The most vital B vitamin for Brain function and NS health. - Protects the nerves so they function properly without this, nerves cease to function. Pain, weakness and other symptoms occur. It affects mood / depression, dementia, fatigue, foggy brain, muscle weakness, tingling in limbs, muscle / nerve shocks, reduces inflammation and cell damage. *Magnesium and vitamin D are needed for vitamin B12. #antioxidants #vitaminb12 #vitaminbcomplex #vitamina #nutritionforpain #nervoussystemhealth #musculoskeletalsystem #health #inbalancemst #nerve

17.01.2022 N U T R I T I O N What if you knew the power of food could be medicine for your body, would you make the changes? If you were told you could reduce pain and inflammation, have clearer thinking, more energy and a stronger immune system, would you embrace the healing of food? . We all know a diverse diet of fruits, vegetables, grains and seeds are beneficial to our bodies, however many of us are unaware how medicinal good nutrition can be for overall well-being. Especially for ...pain, injury and inflammation in the body. . . Our bodies naturally need specific vitamins and minerals that have a huge effect on how every cell in the body responds, regenerates and fights off infection. Your organs rely on these nutrients daily, including every job your brain has to do for your body. Nutrition has a huge impact assisting with the balance of inflammatory levels, along with hormone releases that affect mood, sleep/wake cycle, memory, breathing, heart rate and temp etc . . Imagine putting faulty fuel in a car, it does not run efficiently and it won't be long before it starts to have issues. So imagine your nerves, muscles and joints, they need these vitamins and minerals daily! When inflammation and pain arise the best thing you could do is feed them the good stuff!! Your Nervous system needs it to function and for recovery. . . Vitamin B Complex | Magnesium | Antioxidants - A,C, E | Calcium | Potassium | Vitamin D | Fatty acids. My top main ones for recovery and I am excited to let you know why very soon! #vitamins #minerals #vitaminb #magnesium #nutrition #immunesupport #foodismedicine #healthyfood #nervoussystemregulation #inflammationdiet #antiinflammatoryfood #painandinjury #inbalancemst #msk #health #brainhealth #neuroscience #healwithfood

15.01.2022 Your feet impact your entire body. Each part of your foot has an important role to help you walk, stand and run. When your foot first touches the ground (Heel strike) this engages your quads and rectus femoris ( hip flexor ) and hamstrings.... The foot then plantar flexors and will slightly pronate outwards as the body absorbs the impact of the foot. The glutes become involved to stabilise the pelvis and contract to help the next phase. Mid stance - Glute medius contracts assisting loading of the leg. The foot takes the weight of the body with slight knee bend. Heel push off and toe off - the heel lifts off the ground, toes push and lift the whole foot up to help propel your leg forward. Glutes and hamstrings extend the hip, plantar flexors and calf muscles asist the foot. Your big toe and ligaments in the foot ( arches) impact on this phase. Swing phase - The limb shortens to provide foot clearance. Adductors and hip flexors contract whilst glutes are stabilising your pelvis. There is involvement with your sacro - iliac spine and shoulders. As the leg prepares for heel strike (landing the foot) the lower leg muscles control this. Higher up obliques have impact during this phase amongst other important muscles. Gait ( walking) can show biomechanical disadvantages and musculature imbalances. Improving how you walk and the mobility of your feet will prevent many injuries later in life. Lately I have been retraining clients to walk properly again, correcting these phases. 90% are through the feet being restricted and walking outwards rather than through the mid foot. > If you would like a biomechanical exam or foot analysis get in touch, I love working with the feet. www.inbalancemst.com.au #footposture #gait #footmechanics #biomechanics #footpain #footmobility #pathomechanics #walking #subtalarjoint #plantarfasciitis #restrictedfootwear #bigtoe #improvemobility #muscleimbalance #inbalancemst

15.01.2022 E Q U I L I B R I U M The two of these are best friends for creating balance in the body. The more calm and still our minds are the more our brains function with a natural flow of intelligence without being overcrowded by stressors. This allows a harmony of balance between hormone releases, balanced inflammatory responses and less pain. Our nervous system along with muscles and joints will be more efficient, less pain and restriction.... The more movement our bodies get the better the mobility of joints and muscles amongst function of the nervous system and chemical balance in the body. This includes our important organs. Our bodies were built for movement. Movement is key for the body and stillness is healing for the mind. Start today by creating small steps with both. . . . #movementheals #mobility #movement #stillnessofthemind #nervousystem #vagusnerve #vagaltone #inflammatoryresponse #inbalancemst #alliedhealthprofessionals #movementiskey #naturalhealth #healingthebody #bendigo #mindhealth #balance #healthybodyhealthymind #healthymindhealthybody

13.01.2022 Your feet impact the rest of your body! :) How? The way you walk and stand means everything to your knees, hips and back. Including your shoulders and neck. Think of them as the building blocks for your body.... Abraham was not wrong!! Standing firm on your feet you need to be standing straight with the feet pointing forward. Your posture can be impacted if our feet are turned out or rolling outward. The body has to adapt if there is an imbalance at the ankle and feet. Your feet have sensory receptors sending messages to your brain. The brain is constantly sensing this info and receiving it to adapt. Happy Friday! Have a wonderful weekend my feet warriors #feet #imbalance #footposture #gait #spinalcare #alignment #tensegrity #inbalancemst #tendons #ligaments #balance #sensoryreceptors #happyweekend #friday #footday

10.01.2022 Your body is your ally and your friend it is letting you know every moment how it is supporting you and how you are supporting your body. Trust in your body and the way it tells you, listen to your body in how it is showing you. There is a gentle communication it uses every moment of every day. A little niggle in your back or neck, an upset tummy, a headache, tired and sore feet or tight muscles.. listen a little closer to what it is needing a little help with and your body ...will thank you! :) Listening to the subtle signs early on can prevent so much. #listentoyourbody #goodlistener #yourbodyspeaks #healthybodies #physcialhealth #wellbeing #spinehealth #yourbodyisatemple #inbalancemst #mindfulness #muscle #bendigobusiness

02.01.2022 Your nervous system is responding constantly to keep everything functioning throughout your body. The spine is connected to the brain which is receiving messages to adapt physically and mentally. (Your nervous system) Your breathing is directly connected to your spine via the nervous system. - - - During your day stop and give your nervous system a quick reset.... Breathe in slowly and fill your lungs as far down in to your belly as possible, allow your ribs to fill up. Longer the breath the better. Breathe out for longer, slowly expelling all the air out. 4 breathes in and 6 out. Using your abdominals to contract and squeeze all the air out. Repeat this 5 times then go back to your day feeling more free. - - - * This will relax your nervous system improving your parasympathetic response. * It will also release tension of the rib cage and thoracic spine ( upper back and shoulders), improve hormone balances, relaxed heart rate, improved cognitive function and digestion. *Give your shoulders a roll back to also asist. Your muscles and joints will appreciate you! Your spine and rib cage have a lot of organs to take care of Wishing you all an amazing week ahead! #spinehealthcare #spinemobility #nervoussystem #brainhealth #brain #ribcage #lunghealth #vagusnervehealing #tension #tightback #tightshoulders #deskwork #spinalmovement #takeabreak #breathingexercises #sundays #inbalancemst
