25.01.2022 Know Your Knockers was founded by a tough Breast Cancer survivor. In 2018 Katrina was diagnosed with Her2+ Breast Cancer that had spread to her lymph nodes. 14 months of treatment (chemo, double mastectomy, radiation and herceptin) she was found No Evidence of Disease. This guide was created to help you navigate the crazy world that is Breast Cancer. They have sourced the best products and information required by Breast Cancer patients to make this journey as easy as it possibly can be. They help to take away some of the burden. It is QLD centric but there is a lot of good advice for people living outside QLD. Katrina is passionate about making sure all women are aware of how important an early diagnosis is for your treatment and survival.

23.01.2022 I love this analogy! You are holding a cup of coffee when someone comes along and bumps into you or shakes your arm, making you spill your coffee everywhere. Why did you spill the coffee? "Because someone bumped into me!!!" Wrong answer.... You spilled the coffee because there was coffee in your cup. Had there been tea in the cup, you would have spilled tea. *Whatever is inside the cup is what will spill out.* Therefore, when life comes along and shakes you (which WILL happen), whatever is inside you will come out. It's easy to fake it, until you get rattled. *So we have to ask ourselves... what's in my cup?"* When life gets tough, what spills over? Joy, gratefulness, peace and humility? Anger, bitterness, harsh words and reactions? Life provides the cup, YOU choose how to fill it. Today let's work towards filling our cups with gratitude, forgiveness, joy, words of affirmation; and kindness, gentleness and love for others. (Shared from a friend whose cup is full of goodness and inspiration.) See more

23.01.2022 This is going to be with us for a long time and perhaps forever in everyones every day life, how much do you know about the brand you buy?

22.01.2022 The many faces and figures of Lipoedema: a disorder that is characterised by the abnormal deposition of fat under the skin and more. It is manageable but not curable and affects mainly women who spend a lot of their lives being called 'fat' (when it is more than that). I work with many women who have Lipoedema: give me a call on 9418 842 833 if you would like more information. I don't remember where I obtained this picture from but I just love it as it is showing the breadth of Women living with Lipoedema.

22.01.2022 'Autistic people are unique; there is so much more to us than the stereotype of a young, white boy who is a genius.' Helping someone with Autism avoid sensory overload, clear and easy communication, do you know any other tips that aren't in this article? This article give some really good advice. 22.01.2022 Nature at its best. I have several clients who are in the triple negative treat cancer realms, this is such positive news to consider. Obviously more needs to keep happening

21.01.2022 It an be difficult to find the simple, small things that bring us joy and that someone out there is around to help take care of us and us for them too.

21.01.2022 Love this, spreading good cheer, the world needs it

21.01.2022 Thanks to my cousin John Liddy for sharing this recently. Hilda Ellis November 4 at 7:01 PM I love this story from Katharine Hepburn’s childhood; in her own words. Once when I was a teenager, my father and I were standing in line to buy tickets for the circus....Continue reading

20.01.2022 Small steps have the power to take you more places

20.01.2022 Are you guilty of this? Not in my other roles but since running my own business I have done it sometimes. A few years ago we travelled to America. I had only been in business a relatively short time and had never taken a 6 week break. What if my clients didn't want to wait to see me after a what I thought was a long break? One night at 2am my phone rang, having been in a deep sleep I answered it on auto pilot (suddenly realising it was a new client ringing to book from Aust...ralia of course). I managed to think enough to ask her to email me and I would respond within 24 hours. It taught me a couple of good lessons. 1. Buy a cheap phone in the country you are in and text the number to family for emergencies 2. Change the message on your phone to let people know when you will return to work and that you will answer messages and emails on your return See more

19.01.2022 Many of my clients are emotionally burned out from the stress and impact of this last year where we have lived with the threat of DOVID19. This is showing up as an increase in comfort or emotionally eating in many. Take some time to watch this video to help combat emotional eating forever. I can certainly fall into this way of eating. Thanks for sharing Helen Eason Physiotherapy

18.01.2022 An excellent but sad read. This may be happening here in Darwin as well but our wait times would be minuscule compared to what would be happening interstate. This isn't my post, I am copying from one shared on my training hospital's FB page. 'These people manning the testing stations are saints. One of my coworkers wrote this and it couldn’t be more true right now. I swabbed 53 patients alone the other day out in the rain at my one job. I’m exhausted, I’m overwhelmed, I di...dn’t sign up for this when I started my career, none of us did but I show up daily and do everything I can to still care for people with a smile would be nice to have the respect back in return.' The respect is gone. The appreciation is gone. The thank you so much for working through this has been replaced by, Why is this taking so long?, and I’m just here for a nose swab, this is ridiculous. The threats of calling corporate and being screamed at over the phone are at an all time high. The annoyed eye rolls and huffy sighs when you tell them it shouldn’t be much longer, we are doing the best we can are really starting to chip away at our morale. The free coffee and meals are a thing of the past. The hotel lights in the shape of hearts aren’t on anymore. The neighbors that waved us off to work and told us to stay safe have gone back inside. The community that displayed heroes work here signs have turned their backs on us. We are still here. We are still fighting. We are working harder than we ever have. We are exhausted. We are frustrated. We are so emotionally and physically drained. We are skipping breaks. We are going in early and coming home late. We are missing time with our families. We are doing THE. BEST. WE. CAN. We aren’t healthcare heroes anymore. We have become slaves to this pandemic, and it is really freaking exhausting. So please, if you read this and for some reason find yourself at the ER or a COVID test center in the near future, cut the staff some slack. Try to be grateful. Try to have some respect. And for Pete’s sake, just say thank you. #respiratorytherapist #COVID19 #covidrt See more

13.01.2022 Time and time again I hear the words below no matter what the cause is of the lymphoedema. The British Lymphology Society October 6 "It is truly exhausting to walk the way that many of our #lymphoedema patients walk"
