24.01.2022 We recently sat down with our Director - Greg Tottman, who explained why he decided to bring InBody to Australia and New Zealand. Like yourself, he had a problem, and after being exposed to the InBody technology in America, he knew this was the only solution. He needed a precise method to validate what he was teaching to hundreds of personal trainers in the making, was in fact extremely successful. 21.01.2022 [InBody At The Recent Safety In Action Event] The InBody team have just wrapped up another successful few days at the Safety in Action Conference in Melbourne. This event is the longest running safety event in Australia, covering the latest innovative health and safety products, workplace wellness and mental health. Thousands of safety professionals across the industry visit Safety in Action to discover new solutions to help them achieve their goals in creating safer workplac...es. It was the 5th year InBody have attended this event - our display is always a point of interest for the attendees as it is becoming even more important to large corporations to ensure the health and wellness of their staff. The ‘safety’ aspect is often heavily focused on so it is great to see ‘health’ being made a priority. The two day event allowed us to connect with industry experts in Health & Safety. Everyone was wowed by the InBody technology and were interested to hear how this could be incorporated into their businesses. Whether it be measuring body composition and offering staff incentives to keep fit and healthy, or a new and exciting method to offer staff a fun way to stay accountable, all with the end goal to increase productivity.

19.01.2022 InBody recently had the privilege of being able to attend Diabetes NSW & ACT’s recent World Diabetes Day Member Forum. The one-day event had a stellar turnout, with hundreds of people attending to receive diabetes updates and management techniques. InBody’s presence allowed for many of the events attendees to participate in InBody scans and learn some valuable information regarding their body composition. 15.01.2022 Stroke Foundation NZ Go Mobile! Did you know that a person with high blood pressure is up to seven times more likely to have a stroke than someone with normal or low blood pressure? Failure to detect and control high blood pressure is the single biggest cause of avoidable strokes and @StrokeFoundationNZ are making sure that they can help as many people as they can by launching their Big Blood Pressure Van.... The van has been fitted with four InBody blood pressure monitors and will be making its way around New Zealand offering free blood pressure tests. After spending last week at the Christchurch A&P show, they were able to perform approx 100 blood pressure tests each day and are now making their way back up towards Auckland. This is such a great initiative and it’s wonderful that Stroke Foundation NZ now have the ability to help so many more people throughout New Zealand. 15.01.2022 Many people often ask what the difference is between our models. An important point to understand is the technology is exactly the same across all models so the differences lie in the parameters each one produces, however the 270 has 2 frequencies, the 570 has 3 frequencies and the 770 has 6 frequencies therefore allowing different parameters to be measured. For example the 770 model shows Phase angle and segmental edema in comparison to the 570 model which does not. ... Another example of the differences can also be seen when looking at visceral fat. Visceral fat is measured on many InBody devices, however it may be displayed differently on the results sheet, depending on the model. For example, on our 570 model, the machine displays a number score, whereas the 770 displays cm2 in decimal points. The 570 gives a whole number such as 9 and this would indicate that an individual could have visceral fat anywhere between 90.0-99.9cm2. With the 770 model, the visceral fat is shown on a graph and it displays that amount, to .1 of a decimal point eg. 93.2cm2. The technology is exactly the same so in determining which model is best suited to your industry, it pays to look specifically at the parameters that are measured. The most common of all models is the 570. It certainly provides more than enough parameters to be utilised across a very broad area of fields and as such you will find this model to be the most common. It is not fair to make a comparison in terms of describing one model being superior to the other - as stated previously, it more so depends on your personal requirements. We always suggest that if you got scanned on say a 270, it makes sense for direct comparisons between scans to get scanned on the exact same model. The superior technology InBody processes compared to other brands is well known in people willing to be educated, but we also have many different models which suits many different applications.

13.01.2022 One for the ladies How does a Breast Augmentation affect your BIA results? An implant is recognised as adipose tissue so will be included as fat. Since the implant will continue to have the same effect on the reading each time you do a scan, you can still successfully track the relative change in total body composition over time.

10.01.2022 The limitations of Body Fat % Percentage of body fat can be a useful tool, but you must be aware of the limitations. By just monitoring your percentage of body fat, without looking at other parameters restricts you in assessing the rest of your overall health. Your percentage of body fat is relevant to weight. ... What happens when you change your weight? You can change your percentage of body fat without actually changing your body fat mass. For example, if you drank 5 litres of water, your body weight would go up and your percentage of body fat would go down, yet you have lost no body fat. This could be done in 5 minutes or as long as it takes to drink the water. Therefore, this method has a major flaw. However, if you specifically monitored the amount in kilograms of skeletal muscle mass and body fat mass, including how much visceral fat this would give a true picture as to what is actually changing. 03.01.2022 A question we often get asked is "Can I exercise before my InBody scan?" Exercising before your scan is not recommended. When you workout, the size of your muscle cells will increase and your muscles will require more water to allow them to function properly. As your muscle cells grow and take in more water, your Lean Body Mass will increase temporarily due to the training.... The InBody device will precisely measure your body composition state at the exact time of your scan, so for the purpose of comparing multiple scans, your body should be in the same state each time you scan - which cannot be replicated after training. It is not recommended to perform a scan after training, we advise waiting at least 3 hours before getting an InBody scan. The more you can replicate the exact same conditions, the more precise the measurement comparison will be.
