24.01.2022 What a week for Blind Cricket Tasmania. The public media event was attended by leading B&VI representative organisations, support service entities and mainstream sponsors and stakeholders. And a massive thanks to The Harcourts Foundation for their $5k donation! Since then IIT has secured a BCT MoU with Cricket Tasmania and a meeting with Sports Minister Jane Howlett - Liberal Member for Prosser early March, and we're in discussions with Blind Sports Australia for localised tr...aining support too. Also a big thanks to Nathan Lyon & Cricket Australia for your generous video message of support, Lord's Taverners Australia, Blind Cricket Australia BCA, VisAbility Tasmania & Blind Citizens Australia for your guidance over last 2 years. We look forward to working with our Youth Ambassador Nicole McKillop, Community Ambassador Vaughn Bennison, Reclink Australia, The Cricket Hub Tasmania and other partners to establish a strong participation and pathway program for B&VI cricket across the state. We can now announce the first Come & Try Day on Sat, 24th April at the Cricket Hub, Kingston. IIT will be promoting the event through all partner channels. Please join with us in liking the IIT/BCT FB Page and helping to spread the word: https://www.facebook.com/InclusiveInnovationsTas For further info please contact IIT's CEO on [email protected]

24.01.2022 How awesome is this!

23.01.2022 Players from ACT blind cricket and the community braved the weather and the Coronavirus apocalypse to get together for the Inclusive cricket bash. The day was a massive success with players from the community wearing Vision Australia glasses to play alongside Blind Cricket Act.

23.01.2022 A great inclusive, innovative mainstream event. A passionate client also. Yes it's still on please spread the word, thank you.

22.01.2022 ACT Blind Cricket had a sensational day today with NSW Blind Cricket coming down for a game. We joined forces with the lads from the U16 Ginninderra junior cric...ket team. It was a close match considering the circumstances with NSW winning by 20 runs. We would like to say a massive thank you to Ginninderra Junior Cricket club for hosting us with such open arms and for the boys who stepped up and embraced the new format with such maturity! There are talks of making this an annual event! Images: 1 a group photo with NSW players and participants from Ginninderra talking before the match starts. 2 a group of players warm up by doing ball drills. 3 two players from Ginninderra Junior Cricket Club wearing goggles to simulate vision impairment during the game. 4 Robert from the ACT team is taking the field to begin play. 5 Boys representing Ginninderra practice using the audible ball for the first time. 6 NSW players prepare to bat as ACT players surround the pitch to field. 7 two marquees for the NSW and ACT teams are set up to the side of the pitch for players to use. 8 President Jason Schmidt congratulates both teams at the conclusion of play.

12.01.2022 Diversity is Not Inclusion The first failure pattern that plagues many well-intentioned organisations is confusing diversity with inclusion. They are not the same. Diversity is a matter of makeup and composition, while inclusion is a matter of belief and behaviour. Great article from Forbes that is worth a read.... #diversityisnotinclusion

11.01.2022 WE'RE CALLING OUT TO RAISE $100,000 for Blind Cricket. We invite philanthropists, corporates, support entities and individuals with a passion for inclusive community sport, to invest financial support in IIT's exciting Blind Cricket Tasmania initiative. Blind Cricket explained by the GOAT Nathan Lyon: https://www.facebook.com/CricketAustralia/videos/2083385245225325... What is Blind Cricket and why launch BCT? Blind Cricket was invented in Australia after WW1, with a national championship established in 1952. It's been played across the country ever since, with Tasmania the only state without an active program or state team until now. IIT launched BCT last month, to deliver a participation program statewide and pathway to state and national representation. See WIN TV News story here: https://www.facebook.com/InclusiveInnovationsTas/videos/204025568170328 For many it's just an opportunity to play and connect with their community, but for emerging elite players it's access to high performance training to realise their sporting dreams. Blind Cricket Tasmania will identify and develop talent to field a dual TAS/ACT team at the 2023 National Cricket Inclusion Championships and hoping for some of our own to then be selected for national duties. WE NEED YOUR HELP to raise $100,000 over 3 years to fund: Transport (statewide) Player's equipment & clothing Venue hire & coaching State team (inc. flights, accom, transport & support) Associated costs (insurances, promotion, food & bev, admin) Tax deductible donations: IIT is a NFP/NGO registered charity with DGR status pending, offering significant tax incentives for major donations. Want to know more sponsor, donate or volunteer? The BCT Program & Sponsors Outline is available on request. 09.01.2022 Was a proud moment all round, as I had the privileged honour to present the inaugural Inclusive Work Award to Ross Kent Glitterball Creative at the recent The Diemen Awards (creative industries awards). IIT proudly sponsor the acknowledgment award, that also offers an emerging alter-ability talent a work placement to gain valuable industry experience. Ross is a person with Cerebral Palsy and wheelchair user, is sharp witted and possess trained skills akin to other mainstream ...emerging creative professionals. Ross we love your passion for creativity and bright, positive personality. You're an inspiration to us all! IIT look forward to realising more meaningful inclusion initiatives in future, across the creative industries and beyond. 06.01.2022 We’re all in this together. It’s a message for all Australians right now and a mantra Kew Cricket Club put into practice through its participation in the Pride Cup last summer.

06.01.2022 Unfortunately due to bad weather, today’s Inclusive Community Cricket Cup game is cancelled. Next game is Thursday 12th, same place and time. Hope to see all p...articipating teams next week. Thanks, Sunny Drury C.CEO - IIT See more

05.01.2022 The IIT Board, Leaders and a proud CEO are excited to announce the finalisation of a 12-month NFP/NGO Company development, legal framework and registration process to gain ACNC charity status. We've done it together! Part of the journey included now fond memories of our Parliament Lounge dinner with former Premier Will Hodgman and Opposition Leader Bec White, in Nov. 2019. Some inspirational inclusive sector, business and lived-experience supporters joined the table to voic...e support of IIT's vision, purpose and value. It was a unique, enjoyable and inclusive moment. Our thanks were represented in gifts to both leaders in the form of IIT merchandise and our stunning 'infinity inclusion pin', designed by local Jewellery designer Shauna Mayben. That successful night secured a formal invitation to present to Gov. Ministers back in March. But after endless hours in preparation Covid-19 hit! Our meeting became impractical, but we pushed on to gain the registrations in time for the bounce-back. And here we are! Latest news...? We've received advice that Gov. are now again considering a date to hear our case for funding support and the imperative nature of our initiatives that'll make sustainable change for Tasmania’s most vulnerable. But also, bring inclusion into the mainstream to the benefit of all. Our innovations, technologies and methods, not currently applied in the landscape, are now evidently fit-for-purpose. Once funded, we're ready to deliver many social-benefit initiatives to help in our state's recovery response to short and long-term benefit of our state. Will update progress in coming weeks. Wish us luck! For those wanting to learn more, collaborate or support IIT just reach out, we're inclusive! #inclusionmatters #diversity #disabilityawareness #socialchange #diversityisbeautiful #diversityandinclusion #inclusionrevolution #autismacceptance #intellectualdisabilities #inclusion #IIT #nonprofitorganization #volunteer #inclusivecause

02.01.2022 The IIT Inclusive Community Cricket Cup (game 1) was a fantastic afternoon of cricket kinship, played in the true spirit of the all-abilities format. Look forward to more teams and more fun next week! NOTE: Game start time change to 1PM SHARP (previously 1.30pm). #oneinallin #makinginclusionmainstream
