08.01.2022 Hi IKOT Clients At IKOT we understand that this is a difficult and confusing time for everyone, more so in some cases for the amazing young people who access our services.... As many of you will already know IKOT is changing up the way we deliver services to you. To keep in line with the new social distancing rules we are conducting all of our sessions either over the phone or via a video platform called Zoom. We are already seeing some great results through the Zoom sessions. With some families saying that they would want to continue these as a regular part of their therapy after the COVID-19 situation eases. Your therapist will be in touch with you, if they haven’t been already, to discuss how these new methods of delivering therapy services could work for your child. Most of our therapists are now working from home, we have a skeleton crew consisting mainly of the admin team operating out of the Battery Point Clinic. In a couple of cases some of our therapists have elected to reduce their working hours to care for their families. If your current appointment is affected by this, then your therapist or the admin team will be in touch. We understand that all of these changes are difficult, we have been amazed at how understanding and accepting you all have been recently. So thank you. Every change that we are making happens with you all forefront in our minds. We all love seeing our clients, so these steps are to ensure that we can keep doing so now and into the future. Keep safe and please let us know if we can do anything for you. The IKOT Team

02.01.2022 Being a parent can be overwhelming at times, especially when it comes to behavioural challenges in children and adolescents. Seeking professional advice can be helpful in navigating these challenges, however, parents are often met with lengthy wait times for services. Educational staff (schools, child care services) can also experience challenging times with students and there are not enough resources to help them support them. Due to this frustration, a group of psychologist...s and counsellors at Lindisfarne Psychology & Wellbeing Centre are providing a workshop to provide helpful information, ideas and strategies for common parenting challenges. You are invited to attend our workshop ‘Challenges in Modern Parenting’. The event will be held at the Hockey Centre in New Town from 9:00am on Saturday the 27th of February. Please follow the links for more information or to purchase tickets Morning session: https://www.eventbrite.com.au/e/challenges-in-modern-parent Afternoon session: https://www.eventbrite.com.au/e/challenges-in-modern-parent
