23.01.2022 At this moment we have not been advised to close. We are taking every precaution to make sure its safe to train. Remember: We have a professional cleaner that cleans the dojo every day. The mats are mopped with disinfectant every day.... All training equipment (bags, shields, pads, etc) are sprayed with disinfectant every day. Door handles and surfaces are sprayed with disinfectant every day. Ensure that your Gi is washed every day. If you are sick - stay home. This is a rule we have always had. Ensure your hands and feet are clean. This is a rule we have always had. A couple of changes: Upon entry to the dojo, use the hand sanitizer on the counter. All training will be non contact (no sparring), until advised otherwise. If we work together and ensure good hygiene & training practices we will get through this. Shihan, Osu.

12.01.2022 Charnwood Dojo, Senior Grading Results 27-6-2020 Due to Covid 19, it was without a doubt our smallest grading ever. But I have always rewarded dedication!... Of all the students that were due to attend the senior grading that was due during lockdown, the following students were the only ones who never missed an online class, and have trained with me every class since we returned to training. I (strongly) disagree with online gradings, so I let these guys know that as soon as they were ready, I would grade them. It only took a further 3 weeks from when we returned to training. I would also like to thank Sempai Jarrah, for taking the basics and to Gracie who gave up her Saturday to offer some moral support and train with the candidates. 08.01.2022 I like to start my day in a positive way. Usually with a , my journal,sitting in the sun, listening to an audio book and cuddles with my kiddo. Today I added stretching. With the shut down Im not doing my 15 classes a week and my body feels it. Karate has been my passion, my outlet, and my saving grace over the last 20+ odd years. Its not just a sport, it really is a way of life, a mindset, a goal a reason and purpose. I love doing it and sharing my skills and k...nowledge with my students, friends and family. With the COVID shutdown I know many of you will experience frustration, anger, sadness, I know I have. However this is the perfect opportunity to create a life you want. Set out your goals, remind yourself who you are, what lights you up, and start to move towards your new path. Sensei Mara Turnbull

Without a doubt our smallest team that I can remember, but what we lacked in numbers we made up for in quality!... Ryu Nguyen - Australian Champion Continuous Sparring May Nguyen - Silver Medal Continuous Sparring Although Chase Murrell was unplaced, he drew a Black Belt and eventual Champion first fight. He really gave his opponent a run, rarely taking a backwards step, and narrowly lost on a decision. No doubt he gained lots of experience for the future. Congratulations everyone Osu! Shihan.
