24.01.2022 Last Thursday our students with staff members Jaz and Rosie participated in Headspace’s Amazing Race. Our team the ILC Turtles proved that slow and steady won the race as we came out on top at the end of the day. The race required problem-solving skills, fitness, positivity as well as teamwork. Our team enjoyed Copenhagen ice cream as the prize at the end of the fun day.

22.01.2022 Last week staff and students dressed up for Footy Colours day. Footy Colours day raises much needed funds for Fight Cancer Foundation. It is not too late to donate to this worthy cause by coming in to the ILC and dropping some money into our footy money box.

12.01.2022 Celebrating NAIDOC week, Always Was Always Will Be. Our ASETO (Aboriginal Secondary Education Transition Officer) Kylie Cook has brought in some various examples of art, tools, artefacts and clapping sticks for students and staff to see.

07.01.2022 In conjunction with Whitelion our service provider we recently were successful in receiving a Rural Grassroots grant. This grant will be used for our Breakfast program and will; Allow us to improve storage so that we can better utilise bulk purchases Upgrade some of our appliances as to better serve and keep warm or cold breakfasts Assist us to take our program mobile, using an existing catering van owned by the ILC. Any development of the van will also improve the skil...l set of the students at the ILC as they will be active in the renovation of the caravan Serve the community breakfast, which will allow our students and opportunity to give back to the broader community of Mount Gambier. 04.01.2022 There is still time to donate to our Foodbank. Food or donations of money will be gratefully accepted.

02.01.2022 Today we held a Cafe ILC cook off. Leanne the regular instructor was away so David challenged Sharon to a cook off. Students pulled a team out of the box to see whose side they were on. Each team made a main and a dessert. Students and staff voted anonymously for a winner. In the end team David were the victors with their sliders and tiramisu. Sharon’s Chilli con carne and brownie came a close second. Rumours of lost postal votes and a rigged election were unsubstantiated.
