25.01.2022 Sunny broadford, soil testing for a local builder weve been helping out for ages.
25.01.2022 If you qualify, the government has released some details for a building grant. All details will become clear over the coming days
25.01.2022 These tenants took a real interest in what we were doing. Blokes on shovels can be entertaining I guess?
25.01.2022 Another different job. Conversion of an old farm shed to a tidy two storey home. Contact Matt for your geotech and engineering needs - [email protected]
25.01.2022 Master builders award for one of our jobs. The best news is the same builder will be developing the site next door.
24.01.2022 Two sites, 50m apart. This is exactly why your mates soil report for down the road can’t be accepted. www.indepthgeotech.com.au
24.01.2022 HLBuilding solutions hand over this beauty located in Yarra glen today. Contact indepth geotech and design for your soil testing and engineering needs.
24.01.2022 Today scomo announced the construction industry was unlikely to be shut down. While the industry is slowing now is a great time to get documentation in place for that extension or full build. Email your working drawings and work requests to: [email protected]
23.01.2022 Sites are getting wet and sloppy soil conditions are changing things quickly. Soil testing done in November showing no signs of saturation are now saturated. Melbourne has already received every drop of rain it had in 2019 in the first 4 months of 2020. And there is more rain coming.
23.01.2022 Get in touch. Residential soil testing and engineering all at the one place

23.01.2022 Yarra glen site visit today was a perfect way to start the week. What a view!
22.01.2022 Something different with our friends Lump Sculpture Studio.
21.01.2022 If I told you we have been involved in the creation of a grizzley bears head......would you believe me? Another ripping project with our friends at lump studio. #bearmetal #indepthgeotech #lumpstudio
21.01.2022 Unoccupied dwelling internal and external structural inspections can be conducted. This one doesn’t look so good.
21.01.2022 Todays view from site. We certainly find some good ones
18.01.2022 Suburbia meets paddocks. Amazing view from this site
17.01.2022 Checking the foundation material on a skinny site in Port Melbourne
15.01.2022 Dear clients, Indepth is still open for business however there will be changes for all on site work from aug 10 until lockdown conditions end. For some time now indepth have been wearing mask and sanitising between jobs. We will soil testing on only 2 days a week in an effort to restrict our movements. This will increase turnaround times from our industry leading 4 days. We will do jobs in certain areas on each day. Im sure you will all understand this measure at this time.... We are also requesting soil tests for extensions to existing dwellings be done with the clients remaining in the dwelling while we move around the property. All pets are to be kept away while testing takes place. Estate work, clear site work and vacant site can continue with no changes. We will not be moving internally thru dwellings at all in this lockdown. Sadly, this means no further internal assessments for load bearing walls at this time. Finally, our engineering design will continue unchanged as we work from home. In cases where soil testing isnt available and we can not be on site for a while we can use our many years experience to push forward with assumed soil parameters. Then once we have a soil report we can check off the engineering again to ensure we have it right. We look forward to working with you as always and most importantly we are placing both our and your health first at all times.
15.01.2022 Some further details. As always Indepth Geotech and Design is here to service our clients old and new. Please contact us via email [email protected] Or visit our website www.indepthgeotech.com.au
14.01.2022 Interesting article. The bottom line is if you are thinking about building ask a few questions. [email protected]
14.01.2022 This is a footing exposure. Youll most likely need one of these if you are wanting to rely on an existing slab as part of your extension.
13.01.2022 There is a lot unknown about where the world is going. Indepth continues to provide soil testing and engineering for residential projects across Melbourne. We work in small numbers. We have strong communication thru phone and email. We dont need 1 to 1 contact to complete our tasks. Email your requests to [email protected] and stay safe
13.01.2022 In 2019 metro Melbourne recieved 374mls of rain. Most of this fell in the back 6 months. The average metro Melbourne rainfall is roughly 650mls, so 2019 was well down. On May 1, 2020 metro melb recorded its 374th ml of rainfall for the calendar year. And it hasnt really stopped since. If you are in any doubt about the state of your site please get a new soil test. If your original testing was done towards the end of 2019, chances are its presenting very differently today
12.01.2022 Indepth remains committed to providing our services to all clients (current and future). Our soil testing does get classified as work, so we can still service all of metro Melbourne and country areas. We may have to allow extra time as police check us randomly from time to time, but we will be out there today and every working day over the next 6 weeks. We request our clients practise social distancing while we are on site. Indepth will be carrying masks and sanitiser. If you need further info please contact us.
11.01.2022 Our friends at lump sculpture have finally taken this bear to its final home. It had its challenges
10.01.2022 Some driveways are short. Others are this long and need a 4wd to get to the end of them. Indepth - ready to complete your soil test even if we have to do this.
09.01.2022 These clients like to fly planes.
08.01.2022 I wonder if the Victorian state government has anything like this in mind?
07.01.2022 Still cracking on
07.01.2022 The latest changes outlined by the government do not stop Indepth from providing its services. A large majority of all soil testing and engineering is already completed without face to face contact or discussion. However Indepth does practice regular sanitation and social distancing while not in the office. Our home set up has been in place for sometime. Indepth is about as "corona ready" as we can be.... If you have a project and want to beat the rush that will happen at the end of this please email: [email protected]
07.01.2022 We can take a borehole to 3m below surface
06.01.2022 Most of us have been stuck at home. Working from home. Kids school from home. Isolation at home. You are probably thinking we need more space? Now is a great time to get yourself ready to build. Permits take time and by the time you have your permit to build we will be either near to finished with isolation or very close to it. Builders will be scrambling for work. It all means now is the best time to start the process. Contact [email protected] to see how indepth can help you.
06.01.2022 You know you have a great site when the locals are fighting over it
