17.01.2022 BREAKING: The lockdown ends at 6pm tonight, but some precautions will remain in Greater Brisbane for 10 days until 1am on Friday, 22 January. You must carry a... mask at all times. Masks must be worn in indoor places including shopping centres and supermarkets, gyms, places of worship, libraries, public transport, and taxis and rideshare vehicles. Masks must be worn in workplaces if social distancing isn’t possible and it’s safe to do so. The community has come together to support them and other local families, along with the YMCA Springfield Lakes Community Centre, Queensland Fire and Emergency Services, and the QLD SES. Tradies are fixing roofs, local restaurants are donating food, and volunteers are on hand to help with accommodation and other support. Because that's what Queenslanders do.

13.01.2022 We've been getting this question a lot The answer is yes We're asking you to wear a mask in the car because a consistent approach helps keep people safe. We... want you to wear a mask when you leave home - by whatever means, for whatever reason. Walk, drive or cycle - put a mask on when you leave home and keep it on, unless you're taking it off for an allowed purpose. If everyone in Greater Brisbane gets in the habit of putting a mask on whenever they leave home, we're more likely to keep it on - and that's the thing that will help keep people safe and reduce the likelihood of a longer lockdown.

12.01.2022 January 12, 2021, marks the 158th birth anniversary of the great philosopher and spiritual leader Swami Vivekananda ji whose thoughts and teachings played an important role in the development of our country. Swami Vivekananda's thoughts have been a driving force for our nation because he contributed significantly in taking the country and society towards a new and developing direction. He was the inspiration of youth and hence his birth anniversary is also celebrated as Natio...nal Youth Day in the country. Swami Vivekananda has an important contribution in giving a modern and inspiring interpretation of Hinduism and spirituality. He was born in 1863 in Kolkata. He was named Narendranath Dutt. His father Vishwanath Dutt was a well-known lawyer in the Kolkata High Court and his mother's name was Bhuvaneshwari Devi. Vivekananda was very keen to know more about religion and its modern form and this eagerness was fulfilled by his mother Bhuvaneshwari Devi. At the age of 25, Vivekananda left home and became a monk and began his search for 'dharma'. He had a keen interest in spirituality and used to attend spiritual meetings to pacify his curiosity. Swami Vivekananda's thoughts are very inspiring even today. By adopting those, one can be able to develop a progressive and effective perspective towards the betterment of society.

11.01.2022 SPRINGFIELD LAKES AND SURROUNDS UPDATE: Crews have continued working hard around the clock, going door to door (and in a chopper in the air) but the extent of t...he storm damage to homes in the area is far worse than anticipated. We expect nearly 90% of homes cannot be reconnected until their damage is repaired. Our network is back up and running, but we cannot restore power to all properties (including the few that are not damaged) until each damaged home is disconnected from the network. Prematurely restoring supply to homes could create serious and potentially life-threatening electrical and fire hazards. This means our crews and contractors will continue going door to door this evening and from first light tomorrow, however power will not be restored to everyone tonight. We completely understand the frustration this has caused as a result of the damage from the supercell storm, and we thank you for your continued patience.
