15.01.2022 Hello! It’s been a while and there have been a heap of new followers (Waves ) so I thought I’d do a ‘Get to know your quirky, flaky Instructor’ 1. I get seasick standing on a jetty ... 2. Absolutely scared of heights. At the Spartan Race I crawled over the netting with my eyes shut 3. The thought of touching mud makes me gag 4. I am really shy and if overwhelmed I will either have verbal diarrhoea or look for a corner to hide. 5. Country music is like nails on a chalkboard to me 6. I have 6 kids (25 years between the eldest and youngest) 7. I failed maths every single year at school, numbers make zero sense to me. 8. You want to see me miserable? Winter 9. My friends laff at me and say I’m Solar Powered ( by 9) 10. I’m absolutely passionate about taking away the fear of exercise for Mid Life Women. I understand what it’s like to be older and bigger I know the fear and blocks - I don’t know anyone/I don’t know what to do I can’t keep up people will laugh at me My feet hurt. My bladder doesn’t let me exercise I can get you moving joyfully again, bring the energy and vitality back to your day because my classes are designed for YOU! Tell me about you

14.01.2022 Here's your 2 minute summary of what type of exercise you need to do in Mid Life to thrive... #perimenopause #menopausefitness #midlifefitness #healthymidlife #perthfitness "Use it or lose it" REALLY matters once Women hit our early 40's. Despite all of us FEELING in our mid 30's....our bodies are acting the way Human bodies have always done; Our hormones are decreasing on some fronts but going nuts on others as they try to pump things back to normal.... We have our Oestrogen receptors decreasing We lose mitochondria (from our cells), We lose muscle and most particularly our type 2 muscle fibres Insulin starts competing with melatonin. We usually start the Coffee to wake up/wine to go to sleep loop. Inflammation becomes a ticking time bomb if we don't address it. There's heaps more but the take home for you is: Cardio 2x's a week PLUS lift stuff: Weights. If you are currently doing HIIT/Crossfit 5 days a week.....STOP. You ABSOLUTELY need to do cardio but start winding it back so that your cortisol levels aren't raging and dumping visceral fat around your middle. We lose Collagen at an incredible rate at this time. It impacts on our joints, tendons and muscles. We start to get aching knees, ankles and feet from all of the High Impact stuff. It's NOT plantar fascitis (unless it's burning) This is the "Oh my aching joints/feet" stuff. It REALLY is the time to switch one or more of your classes to a low impact class. The sweat is still there but the impact on our joints isn't. I did a little something for the Member’s Group this morning (yes, I’m supposed to be on holiday but this came to me while I was swimming at 6am) Anyway, the feedback was so positive that I thought I’d share it with everyone who follows/likes my page....
