19.01.2022 APPLY NOW - ICIN welcomes the launch of this program to support Traditional Owner groups to share knowledge about fire management. Throughout the Bushfires Royal Commission, ICIN and its member organisations advocated for greater recognition and support for #indigenousfire management by governments and agencies. It is great to see the Australian Government supporting Indigenous-led knowledge sharing through provision of these grants, which range from $20,000 to $200,000 to s...upport knowledge sharing workshops. Only Indigenous businesses, Traditional Owner groups and Indigenous organisations are eligible to apply. Grant applications are NOW OPEN and close on December 10.

Right Way Fire is focused on a combination of burning country according to traditional principles and utilising available technologies. Wunambal Gaambera Uunguu Life Rangers and Traditional Owners look after important animal and plant habitats and important cultural sites with fire. Each year fire walks take place through country. ... Our ancestors used right-way fire from generation-to-generation, says Neil Waina, Head Uunguu Ranger. 02.01.2022 The network was proud to present the Indigenous carbon industry showcase featuring the Thamarrurr Rangers and South East Arnhem Land Indigenous Protected Area Yugul Mangi rangers at the Territory NRM conference last week. Rangers spoke about their savanna fire project on the main stage, explaining how their fire management work reduces hot fires, following an inspiring communications workshop together with Bilawara Lee and Mimal Land Management.
