17.01.2022 This gorgeous screen is by Aboriginal Artist: Melissa Napanangka. Titled : Emu Ceremony Dreaming. The concentric circles in the centre represent the site of the ceremony, surrounded by the "U" Shape depict humans as the oval shape depicts the wooden dish called a Coolamon. ‘Dreaming is connected to the Dreamtime’ references the beginning of time in which all things as we know them were created by great ancestral beings who once roamed the earth. Aboriginal dreamtime stories, whether revealed on cave or rock walls, imprinted on the body and ground mosaic, shields and other artifacts and in more modern times on contemporary fine linen canvas, all demonstrate an inherent respect, love and understanding for Aboriginal traditions and the environment.
