20.01.2022 Meet our deadly IYMP Townsville participant Timor Loban who has completed his Cert III in Community Services and currently undertaking the Cert IV in Community Services. Timor has been given a deadly opportunity to start working for the newly established Lenny's Kuppmurrie Catering Services. This business has been very exciting for the Indigenous Community in Townsville, and our very own IYMP Townsville Coordinator Davina Tobane was able to pop in and see Timor working hard behind the counter. Peter was announced as the James Cook University Student of the Year in Education at the Indigenous Education and Research Centre Awards night. Congratulations from all of the IYMP mob on your deadly achievement and for all of the hard work you have put in over the years to receive this accolade!

18.01.2022 IYMP Brisbanes Josh Robinson and Nicole Weier attended the Preston Campbell Finals Breakfast where they met many stakeholders and were lucky enough to meet with some deadly NRL players who have since retired and are also working to help our mob!!
17.01.2022 Whichway you mob! Tonight we will be hosting our IYMP Brisbane Graduation live on Facebook. We will be hosting our awards ceremony and our cultural performances live on our IYMP Facebook page for everyone back home to see. The approximate times are: 7:50pm for the awards ceremony and 9:00pm for the cultural performances. If we are running on Murri time please bear with us as this will be the first graduation event we will be hosting live on Facebook. Spread the word to your families and other mob back home who would like to see the deadly achievements of our IYMP Brisbane participants!

14.01.2022 Welcome back to 2019 and welcome to the Indigenous Youth Mobility Pathways Project! Were looking forward to a productive year ahead and cannot wait to share with you all that is going on in IYMP!
13.01.2022 Our mob in Brisbane had the opportunity to meet some new faces on the program and finished off the week with an Interhouse Volleyball competition followed by swimming in the pool and a deadly BBQ. A group of the Brissy mob also attended the local NZ Food Festival where they got a taste of food, music and culture from our neighbours in NZ!

08.01.2022 A huge congratulations to our Brisbane IYMP Touch team who claimed victory in the Brisbane City Challenge Touch Competition!!! They had a super tight Grand Final game but ended up on top with a score of 4 tries to 3! The team has been hard at work all season with 2 games a night over the past 6 weeks. Shout out to all of the organisers and especially the supporters who were there every week and kept the team spirit strong to help us get the win. Congratulations again to all involved!

06.01.2022 We are excited to announce that as of the 1st March 2020 Aunty Lorraine Hatton became the first Patron of the Indigenous Youth Mobility Pathways Project. Aunty Lorraine is a Ngughi/Noonnuccal, female elder and is a voice and advocate for Australias first peoples and first peoples youth groups and continues to provide service, in her new-found community, as a female mentor with the Beyond the Broncos Academy and Ambassador and Mentor for the Preston Campbell Foundation.... Lorraine Hatton OAM, formally recognised as an Indigenous Quandamooka woman, and Elder, retired from the Australian Regular Army, after 20 years of service, in 2007. After a nomadic career that saw her live both widely throughout Australia and abroad, Aunty Lorraine settled in South East Queensland where she has been an avid supporter of and has worked tirelessly to help support our Indigenous youth and their endeavours. On the 21st May 2020 Aunty Lorraine was also appointed as the first female and current Indigenous Elder of the Australian Army, and IYMP would love to congratulate her on this significant achievement and extend our warmest welcome to Aunty Lorraine as our first patron!

05.01.2022 IYMP attended the AIME Careers and Futures Festival!! This festival was held at Central Queensland University - where the aim of the day was providing Indigenous students (Yrs 10, 11 and 12) with awareness, information and opportunities regarding study, employment, support and leadership post year 12. This was a great day mingling with the staff and students and having that yarn and making them connections in the community.

03.01.2022 IYMP were invited to the Blackwater NAIDOC March on Friday to yarn with and make connections with other services that support Indigenous youth around Central Queensland. Our very own Rockhampton coordinator Davina caught up with many past students including a past student Niaoka Ross who completed her Community Services qualification with us a few years back before returning to her home community!
02.01.2022 IYMP acknowledge the significant contributions all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff, clients and community have made and continue to make to shape our organisational values and vision. It is their wisdom and guidance which permeates our organisational culture promoting diversity, equality and reconciliation. "In this together" reminds us whether in a crisis or in reconciliation, we are all in this together!
