15.01.2022 Malandarri Festival is presented by Artback NT and the community of Borroloola. The festival celebrates the cultural and artistic practices of Borroloola's Yanyuwa, Garrwa, Gurdanji and Mara clan groups. The 2018 festival ran across the 15th - 16th of June at the Borroloola Sports Grounds. Performances from Borroloola's clan group elders and young people were showcased on both evenings. Special guests included Divas on Tour, an all-female NT Indigenous music showcase, Amis performer Suming Rupi from Taiwan, as well as visiting dance group from Doomadgee, Queensland - the Laginda Sandalwood Dancers. Together with a school parade, marketplace, workshops, art, traditional food, kids activities the festival was a exciting community celebration. All photos by Benjamin Warlngundu Ellis Bayliss

14.01.2022 Award-winning musician, composer and storyteller Shellie Morris Music has returned to Borroloola to run workshops with the current and next generation of song w...omen and men. Over three weeks November - December 2017, Morris worked with Yanyuwa, Mara, Garrwa and Gurdanji senior signers and jungkai as they pass on songs to a new cohort of singers to ensure the continuation of culture and maintain the important role of the song woman/man. We're thrilled to facilitate this project! Many thanks to Marlene Timothy, Barnabas Timothy and Eve Pawlik, on the ground in Borroloola who made this magic happen!!
