25.01.2022 On the home stretch now... Rays of Light 2 - oils and cold wax medium on wood. Just need to wait a few days for the oil paints to dry, before the final touch ups. I am totally entranced by the grace of eagle rays. Each rays spotted patterns are unique works of art. Reproductions of this piece will be available in coming weeks.

23.01.2022 New beginnings in progress...ink and graphite on paper.
23.01.2022 And she is finally complete... Sister Earth was inspired late last year by the environmental tragedy of the Australian bushfires. Despairing our treatment of Mother Earth, I dreamed up her daughter - our sister, who is youthful, regenerative and hopeful. Sister Earth celebrates First Nations deep connections to Mother Earth. The lines surrounding her head dress symbolise the waterways being replenished by the rains following our long drought and the flowers and leaves, regeneration after fire. She wears furs of our native fauna and feathers of the kookaburra. Her figure springs from the ochres of our land and the green and blue background represents our bushlands, reefs and oceans. Sister Earth symbolises deep respect and hope, but also of caution and the need for change. Size - 1m x 76 cm Oil on canvas
22.01.2022 Rays of Light #3 - The Shallows in progress. The blue lines are masking fluid, so the bright highlights of the ray and reflections on the water resist the watercolour and ink.
22.01.2022 Taking some time to immerse myself back into smaller studies - Urchin, water colour wash, pen and acrylic paint on paper.
22.01.2022 What a beautiful concept... our planet is filled with incredible creatives!

21.01.2022 The heartbreaking story of the artist who gave the children of this concentration camp art lessons. Their beautiful paintings survive to this day.
21.01.2022 A huge shout out to Zone Printing! Our latest reproductions are print ready, so keep an eye out on our Etsy store over the coming days. The process of reproducing giclee pigment archival prints to such a high standard is time-consuming, but I think you will agree it is worth the wait! Thank you to all who have expressed their interest in particular images for your patience. Here is a sneak peek of the final test prints against their original art works. Rays of Light #2 and Urchin are in the process of development so will be a couple of weeks away yet.

09.01.2022 Sometimes it is easy to forget that art is play... we focus so much on product that we forget to embrace the process. Inspired by the free Art2Life Breadcrumbs challenge beginning tomorrow https://art2life.lpages.co/breadcrumbs-challenge/ I am taking myself back to basics and challenging myself to move outside my comfort zone. Fun in progress!

06.01.2022 "Decorator Crab" in its tactical camouflage... "A veteran of the battle of the battle". Halmahera, St. Mollukskie islands, Indonesia. Photo by Andrei Zamiati...n. Artists Without Borders Decorator crabs are crabs of several different species, belonging to the superfamily Majoidea (not all of which are decorators), that use materials from their environment to hide from, or ward off, predators. They decorate themselves by sticking mostly sedentary animals and plants to their bodies as camouflage, or if the attached organisms are noxious, to ward off predators through aposematism. See more

02.01.2022 There are many wonderful things about making art. The choice of media is seemingly limitless and you never, ever stop learning. When I was painting Rays of Light in acrylics earlier this year, I wondered how they would translate to oils, and today began Rays of Light 2 using hand ground oil paints on art board. Some days ISO isnt bad after all!
02.01.2022 Incredible photography!
