25.01.2022 Some violet love this morning started with grown out pink toned foils and we went to a deeper colour for less maintenance until we are out of iso days. Love this colour This is one colour application- three different shades of violet tones- end result is less noticible regrowth and wicked violet tones. No filter- but has me wishing for a ring light and selfie station...

24.01.2022 SPREAD THE LOVE, NOT THE LURGY Such a crazy time! Everything is changing so rapidly. I’ve never been more hooked to the live feeds from parliament as much as I have been lately. Last week was an emotional roller coaster for myself with changes and backflips set in place, cancellations and way way way too much Corona chat.... I sat down over the weekend and had a chat with Craig. Weighed up pros and cons of staying open . looked at my options, played with Koby , answered many messages of worry from clients and fielded cancellations to appointments. The salon will be temporarily shut from midday today. I’ve decided to go into hibernation until this is over. For Koby, for my sanity, to #flattenthecurve, to not put anymore risk onto my clients that are immuno compromised, my elderly clients, my families with young kids, everyone...!! It’ll be tough, but we need to work together to make this go away! I will try to get in touch with all appointments from this week and next week today. Hoping the sooner we do our part the sooner we can resume as normal. Keep posted here and on our instagram page for updates! I’ll make sure I post some good info, funny memes and pics of hibernating. 23.01.2022 oh yes... I see all! Step away from that box! Don’t worry! I have something fun for those who wait it out... watch this space! #getrooted salon is still open with our 30 min restrictions. ... What a 30 min service in the salon will get you: - A haircut or - An express hair moisture mask or - A blow dry or - An express toner without a blow dry or - An amazing product consult ( I hear the supermarkets are limiting shampoo/ conditioner- I have plenty and it is super concentrated to go further and helps your colours last longer - for real!!and it helps support local small businesses). Call and book in. The sooner the better obviously Please all I ask is not to ask for a box colour recommendation- I have 20years experience in my trade, I have seen many diy corrections from dodgy home colours : I’m educated inside out in my professional range ( with continuing education). I cannot in good faith recommend a diy box colour - to be honest I never ever even look at them... and as my answer will be as always- No! I am not going to do some hair at home when the salon is required my law to close. There are fines for salons who don’t comply, and I for one can’t cop that on top of reduced business. We must adhere to the laws and requirements set in place by our government if we,as a whole, want to get rid of this dreaded virus. Social distancing and self isolating is very necessary and won’t last forever. thanks for getting this far... seems Like a diary entry every night after a long day taking in our current situation.

20.01.2022 Wishing you all a very happy and safe Easter I haven’t consumed as much chocolate as I thought I would have by now, though the day is still young how are you going? Do you eat it all in a day or so, or stash every last bit in the freezer to make it last longer? I’m an eat it and get it out of the house as quick as possible type of gal. 18.01.2022 Geez.... this lurgy is truly causing me havoc. I’ve been glued to all hair industry pages and groups, every live feed and after a weekend of not knowing and decyphering who said what.... this posts a biggy... I’m OPEN for business this week. The PM says ‘I’m essential’ (lucky me! Lol). ... I’m open up until the QLD premier pulls the plug... ok... until daycares shut as well- my little man tops my VIP list! While staying open, I ask anyone scheduled for a hair service to please not bring additional people into the salon to wait, if you can use TAP on keycards when we have finished, and this should be a given...if you are unwell, or have travelled recently then please reschedule til later. If you’d like to bring your appointment forward please call the salon between 8.30 and 9am on Tuesday to do so or send me a message here tomorrow. I will try my hardest to get you in earlier. No harm in trying, right?! Now is also the time to double check your hair product stash as well... Have you got enough to get your through? Or do you need to stock up? Do you want to grab an amazing home treatment combo to give your self a little ‘Lockdown pamper sesh’? I’ve got you covered! 17.01.2022 Koby update! He’s all good. Waiting on a date for his fibreglass cast which should be in 7-10days time. So another day in twba. The first of a few I think He handled the hospital like a trooper His arm was restraightened and he really did take it like a champ... mum and dad not so well . ... A couple things to sort out tomorrow but all going to plan I’ll be back at work on Thursday for a 3/4 day. I know I’m in Toowoomba at least one day next week, but until I get the message I have no idea which one. Pic of my little munchkin. He’s a bloody tough cookie. Ps - how hard is it to find toddler size long sleeve shirts in stanny that stretch over a cast?!. No flanny pjs either- it’s still winter We mastered the bath with medical tape and a nappy bag and I have some cute bright patterned socks to slide over to protect it from getting too grotty at dinner... so today was a mini success!

17.01.2022 SPREAD THE LOVE,NOT THE LURGY Due to government restrictions being put in place as of midnight tomorrow- Wednesday 25th March. Hairdressers now have to limit our appointments for each client to a maximum of 30 minutes this unfortunately means chemical services will not be able to be performed. Time just doesn’t allow it... It’s just haircuts from here on out. ... If you would like to bring your appointment forward please contact the salon on 46812500 between 8.30 and 9 to do so. If you are feeling unwell, fevery or have cold or flu symptoms please stay home.

14.01.2022 and just like that I’m back in action... I’ve decided to open again as there has been a significant drop in cases from our district ( darling downs health area). Koby loves daycare, I love my clients, and let’s face it- staying in your pj’s til mid afternoon and eating chocolate isn’t great for morale. I did accomplish a lot in a little while though... I sunk my teeth into some great business books - I have notes and ideas coming out my ears we are eating dinner b...etween 5.30 and 6 every night and Koby has been sleeping from 7 which is fantastic( I don’t want this to stop lol), I’ve binged Ozark on Netflix , started a shopify page for my little scrunchie biz but you know what... I missed getting up and coming into the salon, having my coffee, chatting and making everyone feel a bit spesh. If a case presents itself in Warwick or Stanthorpe then I will be back to Pj’s and chocolate at home with my little man. But until then ( and when we start to really nip this in the butt), I’ll be working my usual days- just finishing a after my last appt if it’s an hour or so before 4pm. I’m trying to book appts in from first thing in the morning then onwards. Let’s do it! Send me a message or ring tomorrow morning and let’s get some happy hair happening. 11.01.2022 SPREAD LOVE, NOT THE LURGY Morning! With all the craziness in the past few weeks and I’m sure the next few months at least, I just wanted to touch base and let everyone know that it’s business as usual here at the salon. I’m open Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursdays - 9 til 4 each day. Especially while Koby is still little. I can’t help but want to spend as much time with him as possible. In saying that, I don’t want him to catch any nasties, or anyone else for that matter.... So... if you have travelled overseas, I ask you to please reschedule your appointment until 14-16 days after your return and self isolate as per government instructions. if you have a FEVER, or cold and flu symptoms, please reschedule and stay at home and recover... Netflix, Pj’s and Snacks are the order of the fortnight. if you are too sick to go to work, you are too sick to have your hair done. practise what the authorities are saying, wash hands for longer than usual and avoid shaking hands. No moshpits at festivals also... It’s all pretty much common sense, I have hand sanitiser available as you walk in, TAP your keycard where you can, and reschedule if need be. This isn’t just about myself or my family getting ill, but I do have a lot of clients from all generations and walks of life that need to be considered as well. 09.01.2022 Well, I can safely say I am totally ready for September. I took Koby for his vacc’s on Monday -and ended up with a Covid test for myself which was totally negative! . But it meant that this past week was an absolute washout again cancelling appointments is the worst, I try to avoid it at all costs, however if you’re not well and can’t see a dr until you have the Rona test then that’s the way it has to be. Just a shame results take from 24hrs to 5 days to get back (yep, no... planning around that!) and you can’t leave the house.... Tuesday I will be back on board again with hopefully a full week of work. I don’t think I’ve ever had so many days off ever, except when I had Koby. Today, Monday and Tuesday morning I will start to contact everyone to reschedule. It takes time - who knew toddlers were so full on?! - but I will def be in touch over these next few days. Thanks everyone for your understanding. You really are the best! Let’s get some happy sunny sunflower vibes out there today and have a good one! Even if it is freezing and Netflix is looking good.

It’s just hair- I was there after you lost the baby and needed a hug. It’s just hair- I remember the day you found out about the cancer. It’s just hair- we both cried when we had to shave your head during chemo. It’s just hair..... It's not "just hair" Never has been and never will be!

07.01.2022 Bearer of bad news for the next few days appts: I’d woken up this morning feeling not so great to say the least, my GP told me not to go to the salon until I’m feeling better, so the next few days I won’t be at the salon, I’ll message all with appts the night prior ( if your mobile number is in the system) and work out rescheduling. The plan is to be back to normal by the end of the week. It really is the worst timing ( but I do as the dr says....) as I have a planned week off next week so I really want to avoid delaying everyone’s appointments til the 27th if I can do so. X Amanda

07.01.2022 Loving the downtime at the moment... means I can spend my days with my little man and dream of what will be later in the year. I’ll be back soon... thinking of another week off and perhaps a day or two a week at the salon until there’s some clarity that we are on top of things. If things progress as they do, that is this weeks plan. So far, I’ve cooked up some amazing dinners, played with Koby and enjoyed it being just us, gone for walks in the mornings, watched some ...great online tutorials from hair industry legends, I’m rereading a business book, researched new products, cleaned out the car, made Pinterest boards of salon makeover ideas eaten way too much chocolate and we are three days in. . I’ve been thinking a lot about the direction of the salon... it’s 10.5 years that I’ve open and working solo... what???!!! I know , right?! I’m coming up to 20years of doing hair in September and I’m thinking all this Covid bizzo calms down, I’m having a salon do 20years is big. Hit me me with some ideas! I’ll work out the details, and keep you all posted. But, the main reason for this post is to see what you guys and gals want to see in the salon? Do you have a Haircare range you’d like, some different sorts of retail ( candles, lipsticks, diffusers etc), fb tutorials/classes, coffee bar, wifi, hand massages, snacks, online booking... etc etc. name it! Tell me what would make your salon experience be the best ever?. All suggestions will be considered, don’t be shy!! Don’t worry.... more opening hours is on the cards once we all stop #hibernating and we #flattenthecurve. I was actually in the midst of making it happen before we hit pandemic crazy. 06.01.2022 Operation brights: our belated recolour happened today. bold underneath pieces in a tealy blue and violet with a darker all over semi to really make them pop. *** Might need to get a ring light for the salon to make a spot to take the pics though... the lighting on an overcast day makes it hard to capture the brilliance. 600 pics later and various spots in the salon to get a good pic

05.01.2022 What a week... Koby - my little daredevil - has broken his little arm. We are currently in Toowoomba getting it seen to but he’s chirpy nonetheless - just hungry - as we are waiting to see if we need to have a bigger procedure done. It’s been a massive weekend.... The salon subsequently will be closed tomorrow and perhaps Wednesday until I can get Koby comfy and organised. I will try to get on the laptop to message all appointments booked but it is in Stanthorpe and I’m in Toowoomba.

04.01.2022 Christmas is 15 work weeks away - what the??!! I usually open Xmas appts up in August but we all know how ‘great’ of a month August was for planning anything . So today is the day! Some general housekeeping in regards to Xmas- ... - Please note that as per usual the last two weeks before Xmas will be colour maintenance appointments only. Time just doesn’t allow for a major colour changes so close to Xmas. It’s too busy and I hate to feel rushed for those sorts of appointments. Eg - Going silvery blonde from a deep red does require a lot more time and a few lengthy sessions to achieve a great result. We all want great hair, not mediocre. In saying that, now is the perfect time to start planning and make some great hair happen for the man with the awesome beard and nice red suit. - I’ve opened a few more days up in the weeks proceeding Xmas. I can book you in right up to and including the new year so you definitely don’t miss out on looking fab for the best time of the year. Think school graduations, Xmas parties, family get togethers and of course ‘New Year- New You’! - New Haircare packs have been preordered and will arrive next month. They are in the most gorgeous printed boxes so easy to wrap for a present for those who have everything and are hard to buy for The next release of Haircare packs is next month for our pure range. All will be preordered as well. Once these packs are sold they won’t be available til the next release in the new year so getting in early is a must. And last but not least- Gift vouchers will always be available. Redeemable first hair services and/or retail they are a great addition to Xmas gift giving ideas. 02.01.2022 Well, what a week! Started well but slowly escalated into an avalanche. I accidentally smashed a mirror... Craig says that’s what started it all... Koby’s broken arm, Craig’s dislocated shoulder and my cold from hell ( Not Rona - just came from being rundown)- what a healthy household we are! I’ll message everyone on Monday morning in regards to new appointment times. I’m trying to work through them all but this week has just got me beat... so Monday I start fresh. The salon will be closed on the 11th as I have to take Koby back to Toowoomba for his next cast. He’s such a champion. Here’s to just breathing, and getting through it in one piece

I recently purchased one and it’s saving my sanity after work ( less takeaway, more healthier meals, and no overthinking dinner time craziness ).
